Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial SME to support a transformation programme within a large life and pensions business. The role will translate actuarial processes and non-functional needs into platform requirements, validate solution suitability, and ensure the proposed design meets business, control, and operational expectations.

The successful candidate will act as the specialist business domain representative in workshops and design forums, providing subject-matter decisions, reviewing process and data impacts, and supporting testing, controls, and business acceptance for the Foundation platform (Core Enablement).

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate actuarial processes and non-functional requirements into clear platform requirements.
  • Validate solution suitability against business, control, and operational needs.
  • Represent the specialist business domain in workshops, design forums, and governance discussions.
  • Review process and data impacts across the end-to-end solution.
  • Validate assumptions, requirements, controls, and outputs.
  • Support prioritisation, testing, issue resolution, and formal business acceptance.
  • Work closely with business SMEs, technology, data, and testing teams to ensure alignment to the target solution.

Required Experience

  • Strong background in actuarial processes, platform change, or business transformation within financial services.
  • Experience translating business and non-functional needs into platform or solution requirements.
  • Ability to assess process, data, and control impacts across complex environments.
  • Experience supporting testing, business acceptance, and issue resolution.
  • Confident acting as a subject-matter representative in design and governance forums.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and validate requirements effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a complex, regulated, enterprise-scale environment.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping a critical platform capability within a large life and pensions business, helping ensure the solution is robust, controlled, and fit for purpose.

How to Apply

If you have the relevant experience and are available through January 2027, we’d love to hear from you.
