Position Title: Adjunct, Occupational Therapy Time Type: Part time Position Summary and Qualifications: The Occupational Therapy Program is seeking a motivated and collaborative adjunct faculty. This role blends teaching with a focus on ensuring high-quality fieldwork education experiences that align with Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) mission, the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), and the SJU Occupational Therapy Department's program goals. — Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, doctoral, associate and certifi cate programs. With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty to student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across all of its colleges and schools. SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph’s University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching & Student Support Provide support and guidance to students Instruct an assigned course, providing syllabi and other instructional materials Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction Deliver lectures, seminars, or workshops related to fieldwork preparation and professional development Facilitate integration seminars or fieldwork-related coursework Provide support, guidance, and mentorship to students before, during, and after fieldwork experiences Assist in evaluating student performance in collaboration with fieldwork educators Maintain relationships with clinical sites and fieldwork educators Track student placements, progress, and completion of fieldwork requirements Maintain accurate records and documentation related to fieldwork experiences Faculty Collaboration & Program Support Collaborate with core faculty on curriculum and program improvement initiatives Participate in departmental meetings and accreditation activities as needed Contribute to assessment and evaluation processes for continuous program enhancement Minimum Qualifications: Required Masters or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy Current NBCOT certification and PA state licensure (or eligibility) Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Preferred Doctoral degree preferred Previous experience as a fieldwork educator Teaching experience in higher education Familiarity with accreditation standards and fieldwork management systems Physical and Other Requirements May require standing for long periods of time May require talking for long periods of time May require carrying course materials Modality: Combination of remote and in-person responsibilities based on program needs Pay Transparency: Adjunct compensation is determined by education and relevant work experience.
