Administration & Accounts Assistant

The Opportunity

Our client, a long-established and award winning Chartered Accountancy Practice in Ashbourne, is seeking to hire an Accounts & Administration Assistant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented professional with strong administration skills and book-keeping knowledge to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of client files for year-end accounts and outsourced accounting services.
  • Review and reconcile financial information including bank accounts, debtors, creditors and supporting schedules.
  • Collate client documentation including bank statements, loan agreements, insurance records and other financial records.
  • Prepare draft documents including engagement letters, minutes, letters of representation and loan agreements.
  • Complete Client Risk Assessments (CRAs) and maintain KYC and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end journal postings including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
  • Prepare client correspondence, information request letters, turnover confirmations and tax-related documentation.
  • Support the wider team with general accounts administration and compliance activities.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Strong administration experience in a professional environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Professional bookkeeping qualification.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting software.
  • Familiarity with compliance and KYC processes.

Salary & Benefits

  • Standard office hours:
    • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 5:30pm
    • Friday: 8:30am to 2:30pm
