Key responsibilities

  • Prior Authorizations:
    • prepare and submit pa request for pain management procedures and medications
    • Communicate with insurance providers to ensure timely approvals
    • Track and follow up on pending authorization
  • Quality Improvement (QI)Projects
    • Assist in data collection and analysis for ongoing OI initiatives
    • Support documentation and reporting for compliance and performance metrics
    • collaborate with clinical staff to identify areas for process improvement
  • Administrative Support:
    • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
    • Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule patient appointments, follow-up visits, consultations, and procedures while ensuring efficient provider schedules and optimal patient flow.
    • Coordinate provider calendars and assist with coverage arrangements during vacations, leave, or other absences.
    • Provide comprehensive administrative support to physicians, nurse practitioners, and departmental leadership.
  • Qualifications and Skills
    • Prior healthcare administrative experience required, preferably in a hospital, pain management, or specialty practice setting.
    • Strong knowledge of prior authorization processes, insurance guidelines, and payer-specific requirements.
    • Familiarity with quality improvement initiatives, healthcare compliance standards, and clinical workflows.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and healthcare technology platforms.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing departmental needs.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Monday & Thursday - 8am-4pm

    Tuesday - 8am-11am

    wed & fri remote ( divide 3 hours between these days)

    $20 hour
