Administrative Assistant, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department


Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team! The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the faculty from the Epidemiology Program.


Role Overview:

  • Under minimal supervision, provide advanced administrative and operational support to the faculty of the epidemiology program.
  • Manage complex calendars of department leaders, using independent judgment based on knowledge of priorities and resources.
  • Arrange for appropriate meeting space and set up given meeting/seminar requirements (e.g., food ordering, technology devices, etc.).
  • Prepare & proofread documents including memos, reports, presentations, and manuals as requested.
  • Assist with department projects of moderate complexity including conducting research, analyzing and summarizing data, and preparing reports and spreadsheets.
  • Function as the key resource within the department on all administrative matters.
  • Perform general administrative work in support of the department as directed including answering and directing calls, scheduling meetings, updating calendars and answering email inquiries in a timely manner, ordering office supplies, updating departmental website and documentation, and greeting/escorting visitors. .
  • Prepare travel, financial, and HR-related paperwork

Key Qualifications:

  • High school degree and 4+ years administrative work experience or a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of administrative work experience, experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • The ability to work proactively & independently and follow through on tasks and projects.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and relevant office applications. Experience with both PC and Mac software preferred.
  • Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills
