Position Summary and Responsibilities
Working a hybrid model from the office in Bristol, VA and your home office, the Administrative Assistant I- Records is responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school such as answering phones and emails, receiving visitors, assisting the Principal, leadership team and teachers with administrative tasks, filing and other duties as assigned.
The Administrative Assistant I- Records will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:
- Collecting and maintaining all student records;
- Entering data into the online student information system;
- Generating reports;
- Answering the phones;
- Ownership of school's Efax;
- Scheduling appointments;
- Speak with Parents and Students;
- Maintain Calendars;
- Travel to Testing and required in-person events (may include overnight);
- Responsible for uploading and communication of all state test scores;
- Uploading rosters to third party platforms;
- Assist school Principal with a wide variety of daily responsibilities; and
- Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge:
- Applies knowledge and skills to tasks successfully. Maintains and improves technical skills to perform job duties; seeks out appropriate trainings to acquire mastery of current and new responsibilities and computer applications. Recognizes errors and makes corrections or informs others as appropriate.
- Has technical proficiency in required programs (Microsoft, Google, etc.) and applications including word processing, security, communications, web-browser, spreadsheet, Connexus, and related software applications. Demonstrates familiarity and comfort with PC hardware, software and peripherals and can troubleshoot basic problems.
- Ability to collect and analyze relevant data to make accurate and timely decisions on a variety of issues.
- Can develop and maintain an effective and efficient filing system. Sets up monitoring and review to ensure that data entry tasks are completed on time with 100% accuracy. Maintains data security, as instructed by supervisor and required by law.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of and consistent adherence to FERPA requirements and the appropriate protection, handling, and confidentiality of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
