Job Description:

The ADP Automation Engineer will support the AECD Discovery Process (ADP) Automation by analyzing MATLAB/Simulink embedded

controls, identifying AECD (Auxiliary Emissions Control Device) features and the calibration parameters that determine whether each feature is tuned ON or OFF, and validating the formulas for repeatability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visually analyze and interpret MATLAB/Simulink models and supporting embedded-control information.
  • Identify AECD-related features/sub-features and the logic that enables, disables, or configures them.
  • Identify the minimum calibration parameters needed to determine feature ON/OFF status.
  • Develop a clear logical formula/expression using those calibration parameters.
  • Validate the formula against representative program calibrations and existing documentation.
  • Map the feature into the ADP process and provide traceable technical evidence.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to deep-dive feature for clarity when needed.
  • Clearly identify cases where the available software or calibration data is insufficient.

Qualifications and Schedule:

  • Experience:
    • Hard Skills: Strong MATLAB/Simulink, diesel engine/aftertreatment controls, SCR/DPF/EGR systems, emissions control, calibration tools/data analysis, AECD or OBD cert document and embedded-controls analysis and interpretation experience, ability to trace complex control logic, conditional paths, state logic, lookup tables, enable/disable conditions, and calibration interactions, ability to convert control logic into clear Boolean/logical formulas, and strong Excel and technical documentation skills
    • Soft Skills: Analytical and detail-oriented; able to systematically investigate complex models, good engineering judgment; distinguishes feature-enabling parameters from parameters that only tune feature behavior, clear communicator who can explain logic and rationale to controls and ADP engineers, collaborative and comfortable working with subject-matter experts, comfortable with ambiguity and willing to state when evidence is insufficient, organized, self-directed and able to manage assigned work to schedule.
  • Schedule: The standard shift is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday–Friday.
