Social Worker | 11129 | temporary contract/secondment opportunity until 31 March 2028 | part-time 30 hours per week | £39,862 to £41,771 per annum pro rata | Grade J | Norwich/countywide We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers (grade J and above) new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should you leave within two years of employment. For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council, we promise to try and match or better your existing salary, providing it's in the spectrum of the grade advertised. Adult Social Services in Norfolk is on an ambitious, exciting transformation journey. We're redesigning how we work to create a system that is flexible, human, and focused on better outcomes. An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a Social Worker to join our North Place Mental Health Social Care Team, covering North Norfolk as well as working rotationally on the Safeguarding Adults duty rota. We have embraced our new Community Social Work model, Human Learning Systems, alongside the Living Well approach, and looking at new and creative ways to prevent, reduce and delay care and support needs. Early intervention, creativity and utilising community assets are key, as is improving our community-led support offer to include engaging with people in public spaces. This is an exciting time to join Norfolk Adult Social Care and if you share our vision, we’d like to hear from you. You will be joining a passionate, forward thinking, supportive and high performing team. You will undertake Care Act Assessments, Support Planning, Reviews and enquiries under S.42 of Care Act 2014 whilst working collaboratively with partners including Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust and various stakeholders to promote independence. We are seeking an enthusiastic Social Worker to join our highly motivated, innovative team of Practice Consultants, Social Workers, Assistant Practitioners and Living Well Officers. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) Mental Health Act (1983) and safeguarding vulnerable adults, as well as excellent time management and IT skills. All staff are supported to develop a thorough working knowledge of Norfolk County Council processes and procedures. We operate a hybrid model of working, which includes working from home and from our office base at The Peddars Centre, Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich. There are also opportunities to work from other Norfolk County Council bases across the County. This position is 30 hours per week over 4 days (Tuesday to Friday) however we can consider flexible working options.
