Advanced Purchaser

The Advanced Purchaser is responsible for managing purchasing activities during the early phases of product and process development. The role ensures timely supplier nomination, cost target achievement, and supply readiness for new projects while aligning with quality, delivery, and sustainability requirements. Acting as the purchasing interface in cross-functional project teams, the Advanced Purchaser contributes to successful project execution by securing competitive sourcing solutions from concept phase through start of production. Lead purchasing activities in the advanced / project phase for new products and technologies Define and implement the sourcing strategy for new components, materials, and services Identify, evaluate, and nominate suppliers in alignment with project milestones and purchasing strategy Conduct RFQs, cost breakdown analyses, negotiations, and supplier selection processes Ensure achievement of target costs, commercial conditions, and project timing requirements Coordinate closely with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management during development phases Manage supplier development activities related to cost, capacity, innovation, and risk mitigation Support contract preparation, nomination documentation, and handover to serial purchasing Monitor sourcing risks and implement preventive measures to ensure supply chain robustness Contribute to purchasing-related KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a comparable field Experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain, preferably in a project- or development-oriented environment Experience with advanced or project purchasing in an industrial, automotive, or manufacturing context is an advantage Strong understanding of sourcing processes, cost structures, and supplier negotiations Ability to analyze technical and commercial information to support supplier decisions Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills Structured, proactive, and results-oriented working style Proficiency in English (written and spoken) Good command of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
