As an Advanced Software Engineer-EGPWS/Embedded C/C++ here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and implementation of advanced systems including hardware, software, and network components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system solutions meet quality standards and customer requirements, contributing to innovative and efficient technology solutions. In this role, you will impact the successful deployment and operation of complex systems that enhance safety, productivity, and efficiency for our customers across various industries. You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain software applications for aerospace systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications Support embedded software development using C++ code Follow established processes and guidelines to support project software lifecycle for the projects assigned to DO-178 Conduct software testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables Travel: up to 10% Relocation support may be provided YOU MUST HAVE High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 4 years of experience in Software Engineering/Development Expertise in C/C++ embedded engineering and design in an aerospace/avionics environment WE VALUE Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering Familiarity with software integration and testing Passion for innovation and continuous learning, experience in using AI tools helpful Experience with Terrain Avoidance and Warning System (TAWS) or Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) Support DO-178 B/C, DO-160 aerospace or other industry standards and processes Experience in common avionics development tools like Jira, Bitbucket, DOORS, CC/CQ, TeamCenter, etc Supporting and leading certification activities such as TSO, STC, Type Certification Software architecture experience and common core software approach Understanding of Hardware architecture and can consult on Hardware options to optimize system performance Ability to describe complex technical concepts to engineering team members as well as to business and engineering stakeholders Organizational and interpersonal skills Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events. Ability to find the correct balance between demand and capacity when establishing priorities for the organization.
