Position Overview
A leading premier soccer club in Connecticut is seeking a motivated, well-connected, and results-driven Advertising & Sponsorship Sales Representative.
This individual will identify and secure local, regional, and national businesses interested in reaching soccer families, athletes, coaches, and the broader Connecticut community. The representative will sell customized advertising and sponsorship opportunities that support the club while delivering measurable value to its business partners.
This is a 100% commission-based opportunity with uncapped earning potential, flexible hours, and the ability to build long-term recurring business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify businesses and organizations that align with the club's values, families, programs, and community.
- Prospect for new sponsors through phone calls, email outreach, networking, referrals, social media, and in-person meetings.
- Build relationships with business owners, marketing leaders, community-relations executives, and sponsorship decision-makers.
- Present available advertising and sponsorship packages clearly and professionally.
- Create customized sponsorship proposals based on each prospect's goals, audience, and budget.
- Sell opportunities such as:
- Uniform and training-kit sponsorships
- Field and facility signage
- Website and digital advertising
- Social media sponsorships
- Email newsletter advertising
- Tournament and event sponsorships
- Team and program sponsorships
- Camp and clinic sponsorships
- Scholarship and community-program partnerships
- Naming-rights and presenting-sponsor opportunities
- Manage prospects throughout the complete sales process, from initial contact through signed agreement.
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, conversations, proposals, follow-ups, and closed sales.
- Coordinate with club leadership to ensure all sponsorship commitments can be fulfilled.
- Support sponsor renewals, upgrades, and long-term relationship development.
- Represent the club professionally at games, tournaments, events, and community functions when appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, confident, organized, and comfortable building relationships with local businesses and corporate decision-makers.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience in advertising, sponsorship, media, sports, fundraising, business development, or commission-based sales.
- A proven ability to prospect, present, negotiate, and close new business.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Existing relationships within Connecticut's business community are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of youth soccer, sports marketing, or community-based organizations is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage a consistent sales pipeline.
- Strong follow-up habits and attention to detail.
- Professional, trustworthy, and comfortable representing a respected youth sports organization.
- Access to a phone, computer, reliable internet connection, and transportation for local meetings.
Compensation
This is a 100% commission-based position with uncapped earning potential.
Compensation may include:
- A competitive commission on every new sponsorship or advertising agreement secured.
- Commission on qualifying sponsorship renewals and upgrades.
- Additional performance incentives for exceeding sales goals.
- Opportunities to earn recurring income by developing long-term sponsor relationships.
The specific commission schedule, payment timing, renewal terms, and account-ownership policies will be provided in a written compensation agreement before the representative begins selling.
