The opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Agency Enablement Lead to join our AUSPAC Business division. You’ll deliver operational objectives across our Delegated Underwriting Authorities (DUAs), working with partners on new business and annual appraisals while building your governance and controls capability across the wider business.

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Your new role:

You’ll oversee governance and operational standards across QBE’s delegated underwriting arrangements, helping ensure partner activities align with regulatory expectations and QBE’s risk framework. Through effective oversight, reporting and stakeholder engagement, you’ll strengthen compliance, partner performance and operational effectiveness across the DUA portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage governance frameworks across delegated underwriting arrangements.
  • Monitor compliance with QBE’s delegated authority controls and standards.
  • Coordinate governance reviews and oversight across the partner portfolio.
  • Support partner audits and remediation where issues are identified.
  • Drive improvements that strengthen governance and operational effectiveness.

About You

You’ll bring sound general insurance knowledge and an understanding of the intermediated market, supported by strong governance, coordination and stakeholder management capability. Collaborative and improvement-focused, you can manage risk effectively, communicate complex information clearly and build trusted relationships across partner and internal stakeholder groups.

You'll also have:

  • Experience managing risks associated with delegated underwriting authorities or agency arrangements.
  • Project management and coordination experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven influencing and relationship-building capability.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Knowledge of APRA and ASIC regulatory requirements is highly regarded.

Benefits

We offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances. As a QBE employee you will have access to and benefit from:

  • Hybrid working – a mix of working from home and in the office to support work/life balance
  • Free holistic wellbeing coaching, nutritional support, confidential counselling, financial and legal advice
  • 18 weeks' gender-equal flexible leave for all new parents, including paid superannuation
