About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on builder role inside a fast-moving consumer brand. Reporting to the Head of AI & Systems, you'll build and maintain AI agents, automations, and workflows for teams across marketing, supply chain, finance, operations, commercial, and people.

Candidates must be able to contract through Deel and physically perform the work from a supported country. This role needs regular overlap with Pacific Time so you can work closely with the Head of AI & Systems, plus enough async overlap to support our New Zealand team.

What You'll Own

• AI agents and workflow automations: You'll turn business requests into practical, reliable systems using tools like n8n, AI coding environments, APIs, and structured prompts.
• End-to-end delivery: Requests come in through a single intake. We triage, you pick up the build, work directly and asynchronously with the submitter, ship it, document it, and keep it running.
• GitHub and documentation discipline: You version everything in GitHub, write clear commits, document as you go, and contribute to a shared library of reusable Markdown skills, prompts, and runbooks.
• Operational reliability: If something breaks, you raise it fast, stay in sync with the stakeholder and your manager, and keep data hygiene and information security top of mind.
• You diagnose, design, ship, and maintain. No decks.

Who You Are

You came up through growth, ops, or engineering. At some point you went deep on AI and realized you could now build things that used to require a developer or a whole team. You build for the joy of it.

You must have:

• Deep hands-on experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or equivalent.

• Strong fluency in AI development environments such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent.

• Experience building agents, prompt systems, API integrations, and tool-use workflows.

• Strong GitHub discipline: versioning, branching, clean commits, clear breadcrumbs, and code review as default.

• Documentation as a default behavior. You can build, update, and share Markdown skills, prompts, and runbooks, and keep them current as you work.

• Demonstrated ability to own a project end-to-end: scope, build, ship, document, and maintain.

• Excellent async communication. You raise issues early and stay in sync with stakeholders and managers, especially when things shift or break.

• Strong instincts around data hygiene, integrity, and information security.

Strong to have:

• Direct experience inside a DTC, CPG, or e-commerce business.

• SQL, API, and data pipeline experience.

• Experience contributing to or maintaining a shared skill or prompt library.

Location: Fully remote, Mexico preferred for Pacific Time overlap

Employment: Full-time global contractor

Compensation: USD $48,000-$58,000 contractor equivalent, depending on experience
