Working in tech at Australia Post is where innovation and problem solving meets great people and agile working. You’ll work with bright people on building and maintaining products and services that you and every other Australian get to benefit from every day. Whether you’re working from our modern office or your one at home, you’ll be part of a culture of collaboration and connection, making long-lasting impact right across Australia.

About the opportunity
The AI Business Solution Lead is a business and technology role that works closely with the business, helping teams turn priority business challenges into measurable AI solutions. Reporting to the AI Centre of Excellence, the role works closely with business, technology and operational teams on a day-to-day basis. Part of this involves providing a concise view of demand, outcomes, risks, dependencies, decisions and next gates. Share reusable patterns and practical learning across the AI Centre of Excellence and business domains.

The role develops and manages a prioritised pipeline of opportunities, assesses whether AI is the right solution, and leads selected initiatives from discovery and experimentation through to delivery, production readiness and transition into business-as-usual support. Rather than creating a separate AI function, the role bridges business demand with enterprise platforms, architecture and governance. It promotes reuse, while ensuring ownership, value realisation, operational resilience and appropriate controls are built in from the start.

You’ll also

  • Shape and prioritise opportunities - Translate customer, operational and workforce problems into clear, value-backed opportunities. Test non-AI options and assess value, feasibility, data readiness, change impact, risk and strategic alignment.
  • Lead intake and pathway selection - Embed AI-specific triage into the existing Front Doors. Route opportunities to the right pathway and identify duplication, reuse and cross-domain opportunities before resources are committed.
  • Shape and deliver selected initiatives - Define the outcome, scope, workflow, users, ownership, data, architecture, delivery approach, adoption plan and measures. Mobilise cross-functional teams and lead phased delivery with clear go/no-go, stop and rollback criteria.
  • Turn experiments into decisions - Use time-bound proofs of concept and pilots to test the riskiest assumptions. Make an explicit decision to productise, reshape, hold or decommission, with a funded route to production where justified.
  • Align to enterprise platforms and controls - Maximise reuse of approved platforms and patterns. Apply architecture, data, cyber, privacy and Trusted AI requirements proportionate to risk and operational consequence.
  • Embed adoption and operational ownership - Ensure business, product, technology, data and BAU service owners are named. Redesign workflows, build capability, transition support and track adoption, cost, quality, risk and benefits after go-live.

About you
We’re are looking for someone who can bridge business and technology, partnering across product, architecture, engineering, data, cyber, privacy, risk, change and operations. Using consulting/architecture/BA skills will help you translate business needs into scalable solutions and support the journey from experimentation to production.

You’ll also need

  • Experience shaping and delivering AI, data, digital or automation solutions in a large, complex organisation.
  • Enterprise knowledge of Agentic AI workflows and responsible AI
  • Background working in consulting or AI architecture in an Enterprise Environment
  • Ability to translate business problems into prioritised initiatives and move selected opportunities from discovery through to production and adoption.
  • Commercial judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and delivery teams without direct authority.

What else is in it for you?

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
  • Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
  • Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources
