Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Advanced AI Practice within the AI Application Engineering team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who wants to build core DevOps skills while getting direct exposure to the infrastructure that powers Generative AI and Agentic AI applications. You will work under the guidance of senior AI engineers and DevOps managers to build, automate, and maintain the CI/CD, cloud, and container platforms our applied AI teams rely on.

Key Responsibilities

Platform ownership: Support end-to-end DevOps/MLOps/LLMOps infrastructure for AI application engineering initiatives across on-prem, hybrid, and multi-cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) environments.

CI/CD pipelines: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and model-deployment workflows using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.

Containerization & orchestration: Package applications and services using Docker; support deployment and day-to-day operations on Kubernetes clusters.

Infrastructure automation: Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) for provisioning cloud resources under senior engineers' guidance.

AI application deployment support: Assist in deploying and operating model-serving and GenAI/agentic application components and follow established practices for model versioning and rollout.

AI/LLM infrastructure: Enable scalable, cost-efficient model-serving and agentic-application infrastructure including GPU orchestration, autoscaling for LLM inference, model registries, and vector database infrastructure.

Monitoring & troubleshooting: Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting for applications and infrastructure; triage and resolve production issues, escalating as needed.

Security hygiene: Support routine security practices including vulnerability scanning, patching, and secrets management as per team standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, ML/AI engineers, and senior DevOps team members to understand deployment requirements and translate them into infrastructure tasks.

Documentation: Maintain clear runbooks, deployment guides, and automation documentation for the team.

Continuous learning: Stay current with evolving DevOps, MLOps, and LLMOps tooling, and proactively bring in improvements to existing pipelines and practices.

Must-Have Skills & Experience (Mandatory)

2+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/Infrastructure/Site Reliability engineering.

Scripting proficiency in Python and/or Bash; working knowledge of Ansible.

Hands-on experience with at least two CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes (deployment, basic troubleshooting, Helm charts).

Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Solid Git-based version control skills and familiarity with branching/GitOps workflows.

Exposure to deploying or supporting ML/AI workloads (e.g., APIs serving models, container-based model deployment).

Working knowledge of monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK/EFK stack.

Good understanding of Linux administration and core networking concepts.

Good-to-Have Skills

Exposure to GenAI/LLM concepts: prompt-based APIs, RAG pipelines, or LLM-serving frameworks (e.g., vLLM, Triton Inference Server, KServe).

Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) at a conceptual/tooling level.

Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS).

Exposure to DevSecOps tools: Trivy, Snyk, or secrets managers (HashiCorp Vault, AWS/Azure Secrets Manager).

Awareness of GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux) and service mesh basics (Istio, Envoy).

Awareness of cloud cost optimization/FinOps practices.

Prior exposure to a Data Science/Applied AI environment, even in a supporting capacity.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.

Relevant certifications: AWS/Azure/GCP Associate-level DevOps or Cloud certifications, CKA/CKAD, HashiCorp Terraform Associate.

Bonus: Publications, patents or open-source contributions in AI/ML.
