**# Senior Software Engineer, AI & Data**

**## About the Role**

**Mento is seeking a product-minded Senior Software Engineer with experience building data-related products to help develop its AI and software coaching platform. You will work closely with engineering, design, and coaching teams to create product experiences that bring coaching capabilities to life through software, AI, and data.**

**This is a product-focused role within a remote-first, early-stage company. You will build 0-to-1 features, design AI-enabled capabilities, develop scalable data integrations, and help translate coaching workflows into AI-powered product experiences. The role is open to candidates located in the United States or Canada.**

**## Key Responsibilities**

**\* Build and ship 0-to-1 product features and experiences for Mento's coaching platform.**

**\* Make thoughtful technical trade-offs while working in an early-stage, rapidly evolving product environment.**

**\* Design and develop AI-enabled application capabilities using foundational AI models.**

**\* Structure AI capabilities for adaptability, reuse, and scalability.**

**\* Collaborate with coaching experts to translate coaching workflows and insights into high-quality AI Agent and product experiences.**

**\* Build scalable and reusable pipelines and integrations for importing and exporting data.**

**\* Connect the product with productivity and learning and development tools.**

**\* Apply data engineering and software architecture principles to modern data-driven applications.**

**\* Share expertise in AI and data through peer mentorship, code reviews, lunch-and-learns, and other team learning activities.**

**\* Work closely with engineering, design, and coaching teams throughout product development.**

**\* Experiment with programming languages where appropriate within established service boundaries.**

**## Required Qualifications**

**\* Professional software engineering experience shipping data-related products into production for real users.**

**\* Experience with server-side web applications.**

**\* Experience working with dynamic programming languages.**

**\* Understanding of core data engineering and software architecture concepts for modern data-driven applications.**

**\* Ability to work effectively in an early-stage startup with ambiguity and rapidly changing requirements.**

**\* Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, design, and coaching functions.**

**\* Candidates must be located in the United States or Canada.**

**\* This role is intended for experienced software engineers and is not currently open to new graduates.**
