**About The Role**<br/>The Staff AI Engineer for the Enterprise Analysis Platform is a pivotal role within Capital One's innovative AI landscape. This remote-eligible position involves partnering with cross-functional teams—including engineers, research scientists, project managers, and product teams—to develop and deploy advanced AI-powered products. The primary focus is on building a scalable, enterprise-grade AI native platform that empowers over 15,000 users across various lines of business to perform AI-assisted data analysis. The role requires designing, developing, testing, and supporting sophisticated AI software components such as foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, and governance systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to shaping the technical vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems, leveraging a broad stack of open-source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch. **Qualifications**

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI with at least 8 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies<br/>- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical field with at least 6 years of experience in AI/ML<br/>- Minimum of 8 years programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java<br/>- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure<br/>- Proven ability to architect, design, develop, and support complex AI systems<br/>- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineering teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders up to VP level<br/>- Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics, with expertise in hardware, software, and AI optimization opportunities<br/>- Experience with AI/ML techniques such as LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, and memory systems<br/>- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences<br/>- Willingness to stay current with the latest AI research and incorporate novel techniques into production systems
