Volunteer AI Full Stack Engineer (AI-Native / Rapid Development) About this Role Position type: Volunteer (unpaid), pro bono Location: Remote / International Time commitment: 10–15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months Experience level: 2–5 years Professional Volunteering: Professional volunteering at Solution Community is a skills-based service performed with the same reliability, accountability, and quality expected in a paid professional role. Volunteers are core contributors whose work directly supports our mission of global compassion, collaboration, and action. About Solution Community: Solution Community is an international 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, pioneering an innovative social platform dedicated to enabling actionable change. With volunteers from over 70 countries, we are a testament to the power of global collaboration. Our team members bring experience from some of the world's most successful companies, including Apple, Toyota, Google, Netflix, Walmart, Meta, and many others. Our Mission: To foster a global community of compassion, uniting individuals and organizations to solve the world's social problems. We are the bridge that connects non-profits, businesses, philanthropists, and volunteers, empowering them to create meaningful change. Our Vision: A world united by collaboration, compassion, and action — where every person can thrive. At Solution Community, we are turning that vision into reality. Position Overview: We are seeking a Volunteer AI Full Stack Engineer who builds production software the way top AI-native engineers build in 2026: primarily through AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent), not the classical write-every-line, sprint-by-sprint engineering lifecycle. This is a vibe-coding role in the best sense — you move at the speed of AI-assisted development, but you bring the engineering judgment to keep quality high. Most "vibe coders" ship fast and buggy; we need someone who ships fast and correct. You'll design, generate, review, debug, and deploy real features for our platform, working directly with our CEO (who builds the same way) and our engineering team. Key Responsibilities AI-Accelerated Development Build and ship full features — front end, back end, integrations — primarily by directing AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.), not manual line-by-line coding. Rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy working software in days, not sprints. Apply strong engineering judgment to review, debug, and harden AI-generated code — catching the bugs, security gaps, and architectural mistakes that typical vibe-coded output has. Design clear, specific prompts and technical specs that get AI tools to production-quality output on the first or second pass. Full Stack Ownership Develop and maintain responsive web applications, APIs, databases, and cloud services end to end. Own your features from spec through deployment — no separate QA/handoff cycle to lean on. Ensure application security, performance, and reliability despite the compressed build timeline. Collaboration & Support Work directly with the CEO and engineering lead on architecture and priorities — minimal process overhead. Document what you build clearly enough that another AI-native engineer (human or agent) can pick it up without you. Mentor other volunteers on AI-assisted development practices. What We Are Looking For Required Advanced, daily, hands-on proficiency with Claude Code, Codex, or an equivalent AI coding agent — able to architect, generate, debug, and ship full applications with AI as the primary development method, not an autocomplete assistant. Solid full-stack fundamentals (front end: React, Vue, or similar; back end: Node.js, Python, or similar) — enough to review, debug, and correct AI-generated code, not necessarily to write everything by hand. Experience with RESTful APIs and SQL and/or NoSQL databases. Familiarity with a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure). A track record of shipping working software fast, with the discipline to test and verify it before calling it done. Preferred Experience with LLM/AI application development (OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, LangChain, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering). Docker, Kubernetes, or other cloud-native deployment experience. Prior volunteer, nonprofit, or social-impact work. Skills Strong problem-solving and independent judgment — you catch what the AI gets wrong. Clear written communication (specs, docs, async updates). Comfortable operating with high autonomy and minimal process. Genuine interest in AI-native development and technology-driven social impact. Application requirement Include 2–3 examples of production apps or features you built primarily using an AI coding agent, with rough build time for each. This is the main filter — general dev experience without demonstrated AI-native speed will not be a fit for this role. What Success Looks Like Features shipped in days, not weeks, with bug rates comparable to (or better than) traditionally coded work. Code and architecture that the rest of the team can read, extend, and trust without a rewrite. Reliable, secure, working software in production — not demos. Growing autonomy: less spec detail needed from the CEO/lead over time as trust is established. What We Offer Global collaboration with leaders and strategists from top global companies. Meaningful impact on global causes and communities. A vibrant, multicultural team spanning 70+ countries. A supportive environment rooted in compassion, integrity, innovation, and collaboration. Flexible work with full autonomy. Opportunities for personal and professional growth.
