AI Operations Assistant

Tech Pipeline is working with a partner firm based in Manchester to clear out the manual workarounds that slow down their internal teams. As an AI Operations Assistant, you will look for the friction in their automated workflows. You will focus on the places where data stalls and manual intervention takes over. This is a fully remote role focused on practical fixes rather than abstract strategy. You will help us ensure that the AI tools our partner uses are actually doing the work they were intended for by monitoring systems and refining logic.

• We target operational drag by fixing broken approval chains and manual reconciliations.

What You Will Do

• Monitor incoming data logs to identify where automated routing rules are failing or stalling.
• Update SOP documents to reflect changes in how software handles specific tasks or exceptions.
• Perform manual reconciliation of data when the AI output does not match the source records.
• Help maintain the decision log so the team knows exactly why specific changes were made to a process.
• Assist in the cutover process when moving a client from a manual process to a new automated one.
• Test new prompts and configurations to see where they break or produce stale data.
• Report on the specific sources of friction you find in the daily workflow using plain English.

What You Bring

• A logical approach to solving problems and a curiosity about how software systems function.
• Basic comfort with spreadsheet tools and an interest in how AI models process unstructured information.
• Strong writing skills to produce clear runbooks and process updates for non-technical users.
• The ability to follow a complex set of instructions and spot when a result looks incorrect.
• A preference for finishing tasks and checking your own work for accuracy before moving on.
• Willingness to learn new tools and software configurations through documentation and trial.
• An understanding of why detail matters in data entry and the long-term cost of manual workarounds.

How We Work
We prioritize documentation over meetings. Every fix we implement must have a corresponding runbook so the client can manage the system themselves once we leave. We prefer weekly written updates that detail exactly what was fixed and what is still outstanding. We value the "done" state, which means we stick around until the fix holds and the new routing rules are functioning as intended. When the seams are tight and the workarounds are gone, we move on to the next challenge. This role is a full time, permanent position for someone who wants to learn the mechanics of AI operations by doing the work.
