AI Research Scientist

About the Role

This is a deeply technical research role at an early-stage AI infrastructure company building tools that make AI agents reliable in production. You will be a core contributor to the AI methods and algorithms that power the platform, sitting at the intersection of frontier research and real-world product impact.

What You'll Do

• Develop and improve core AI methods, algorithms, and systems across the lifecycle of reliable AI agents.

• Create novel approaches for simulation, evaluation, and optimization of agent behavior in real-world settings.

• Turn research ideas into working prototypes and production-facing capabilities.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate AI innovation into practical customer value.

• Help define technical direction in agent reliability, evaluation, and optimization.

What We're Looking For

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.

• Deep expertise in evaluations, novel applications, or custom implementations of AI agent frameworks, going beyond off-the-shelf methods.

• Publications at top-tier ML/AI venues (NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL) or significant contributions to widely-used open-source projects.

• Strong proficiency in Python for research and development.

• Demonstrated research depth and novel thinking in machine learning or AI, prioritized over pure engineering ability.

• Experience translating AI research into production systems or deployed applications.

• Background at an AI lab, applied AI company, or early-stage startup where research directly influenced product decisions.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, reinforcement learning, AI agents, agent frameworks, evaluation systems, or continuous learning.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $130,000 to $200,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Fully remote, open to candidates based in the United States.
