We are looking for a (Senior) AI Security Architect to join the UPM AI Center of Excellence. This unit supports UPM's AI initiatives and acts as a catalyst for AI adoption across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of experts and do pioneering AI work in the heart of the renewable and sustainable materials industry. The position is located in Wroclaw, Poland.

What you will do:

  • Drive the design, development and implementation of AI security architecture, controls, governance frameworks and related guidelines for AI capabilities and solutions. Ensure alignment with UPM's enterprise architecture, AI governance requirements and mechanisms, business objectives, security standards, Responsible AI principles, industry best practices and applicable regulations.

  • Evaluate, select and govern security technologies, tools and frameworks for AI capabilities and solutions. Oversee the integration of security controls into AI solutions and delivery pipelines, including identity and access management, Infrastructure-as-Code, automated security testing, vulnerability management, observability and secure deployment practices.

  • Identify and mitigate security risks associated with AI capabilities and initiatives. Initiate and oversee security assessments, audits and reviews to identify vulnerabilities, validate security controls and ensure compliance with AI security standards and governance requirements.

  • Shape and operationalize AI security standards, architecture patterns, secure coding practices and implementation guidelines for AI development, deployment and operations. Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Legal and Compliance teams to ensure secure, scalable and responsible adoption of AI across UPM.

  • Own AI security architecture standards for AI CoE-managed platforms and drive security alignment of AI solutions across the enterprise.

Who you are:

We are looking for a highly motivated AI Security Architect who is passionate about AI and committed to enabling its secure and responsible adoption across UPM.

You should have:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Proven experience in security architecture for cloud-native and enterprise platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

  • Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI technologies, including their security risks, threats and mitigation approaches.

  • Experience applying AI security standards, governance frameworks and best practices, and translating security requirements into practical architectural guidance, platform capabilities, engineering practices and security controls in an enterprise environment.

  • Experience conducting security assessments, risk analyses, architecture reviews and compliance evaluations.

  • Hands-on experience implementing security controls through software development, scripting and DevSecOps practices.

  • Experience with modern platform engineering and cloud security practices, including Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, automated security testing and observability.

  • Professional certifications in AI security, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, architecture or AI governance are highly valued.

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Legal, Compliance and engineering teams.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Additional information

This position offers a hybrid working model, combining remote work from home with regular on-site collaboration in Wrocław.

The position holder will report to Director, AI Center of Excellence.
