Looking for your next big opportunity? Join our incredible community of tech enthusiasts and innovators! Check out the vacancy below and send us your CV — we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
Forte is hiring an AI Technical Product Owner to systematically automate, optimize, and improve business processes across the organization through enterprise software updates, integrations, workflow automation, data solutions, and AI-powered capabilities. You’ll own the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise automation initiatives — from discovery and opportunity identification through solution definition, prioritization, delivery, adoption, and measurement of business outcomes.
You’ll work directly with department leaders to understand existing processes, pain points, and improvement opportunities, and partner with software engineers, architects, data specialists, and other technical stakeholders to deliver solutions ranging from workflow and system integrations to AI Agents, AI Assistants, AI Analytics, and more. You’ll define success criteria and baseline KPIs before implementation, run UAT and user validation, monitor adoption after launch, and iterate until the expected business value is achieved.
The role requires strong technical fluency across enterprise software, APIs, integrations, data, automation platforms, and modern AI technologies, combined with strong product judgment, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and Agile execution discipline.
What You'll Do
Discovery
• Regularly engage with department leaders and end users to understand business objectives, workflows, operational challenges, existing tools, data, integrations, manual activities, and dependencies.
• Identify bottlenecks, repetitive manual work, duplicate activities, delays, errors, unnecessary handoffs, poor user experiences, and other sources of operational inefficiency.
• Analyze, design, and propose solutions to improve business processes through automation, including:
◦ Enhancements to existing enterprise applications
◦ Workflow and business-process automation
◦ Integrations between existing systems
◦ New internal tools and applications
◦ Data aggregation, analytics, and decision-support solutions
◦ AI assistants, AI agents, intelligent document processing, and other AI-powered capabilities
• Assess each opportunity from business-value and technical-feasibility perspectives, considering expected benefit, implementation effort, process maturity, data availability and quality, integration requirements, security/privacy constraints, operational risks, and organizational readiness.
• Determine the most rational solution approach — build vs. buy vs. integrate vs. configure — rather than defaulting to custom development or AI.
• Evaluate whether AI is genuinely appropriate for a use case and define the expected AI behavior, required data and context, human-in-the-loop controls, accuracy expectations, failure scenarios, and measurable success criteria.
End-to-End Backlog Ownership
• Serve as the Product Owner for the team, owning the entire Team Backlog.
• Define, prioritize, and refine business, customer, technical, and enabler stories.
• Translate Features and business requirements into user stories that clearly express:
◦ Customer and business value
◦ Functional behavior
◦ Technical and non-functional requirements
• Ensure all backlog items meet the Definition of Ready and are sequenced to support Product Roadmap objectives.
Business & Customer Value
• Own business-related user stories, including customer workflows, rules, integrations, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Product Management to understand:
◦ Product vision and strategy
◦ Feature intent and success metrics
◦ Priority trade-offs at PI and iteration level
• Ensure business requirements are clearly understood, testable, and measurable.
• Support validation of delivered outcomes through demos, feedback, and metrics.
• Initiate and evaluate spikes to reduce uncertainty and inform backlog decisions.
AI Proficiency
• Use AI tools to accelerate story decomposition, acceptance-criteria drafting, and edge-case identification from Features/Enablers.
• Apply AI analysis to delivery data (velocity, defect trends, cycle time, dependency risk) to surface backlog-quality issues earlier.
• Leverage AI coding/design-review assistants to check technical proposals from engineers and ask sharper trade-off questions.
• Evaluate where AI capabilities belong in the product itself (if applicable) and translate AI agent behavior, limitations, and data requirements into user stories.
Quality, Risk & Continuous Improvement
• Accept stories based on business value, technical correctness, and Definition of Done.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and scope concerns.
• Balance delivery of new functionality with technical debt and architectural investment.
• Use delivery data, defects, and feedback to continuously improve backlog quality.
What We're Looking For
Must Have
• Strong technical background; prior experience as a software engineer, support engineer, or QA engineer is a plus
• Proven experience serving as a Product Owner in an Agile environment
• Demonstrated ability to own both business and technical requirements
• Proven ability to write clear business and technical user stories with detailed acceptance criteria
• Strong prioritization skills, balancing customer value, business outcomes, technical risks, and dependencies
• Strong understanding of:
◦ Software architecture and system design
◦ APIs, data models, integrations, and distributed systems
◦ Non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, reliability)
• Practical experience using AI tools / LLMs (e.g., for requirements drafting, technical research, or code/design review) in a professional delivery context
• Ability to write effective prompts to extract accurate, well-structured technical and business requirements from documentation, tickets, and stakeholder input
• Working understanding of AI tool limitations (hallucination risk, data staleness, context limits) — enough to validate AI-assisted output rather than accept it uncritically
Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in a technical role prior to Product Ownership
• Proven track record of delivering business and technical outcomes through Agile teams
• Experience working in a scaled Agile environment
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• A track record of successfully launched products
Nice to Have
• Experience with complex, enterprise, or regulated systems
• Experience working with distributed engineering teams
• Exposure to UX and customer research practices
• Experience evaluating or integrating AI/ML features within a product (model behavior, bias/fairness considerations, data privacy implications)
• Familiarity with AI governance basics — what’s safe to feed into external AI tools when working with proprietary or regulated data
We Offer
• Work your way — anywhere, anytime. Our remote-first approach lets you choose where and how you work best!
• Experience working with diverse teams and gaining international expertise.
• A friendly, supportive team and an enjoyable work environment where your ideas matter.
• A chance to work on exciting, challenging projects using cutting-edge technologies that make a real impact.
• Free training programs, reimbursement for certifications, and access to online learning platforms to fuel your growth.
• Referral bonuses, regular performance reviews, and full support for business trips.
• Corporate events and holiday presents
