Hopeful for those we support, rebellious in our approach, and collaborative by breaking down barriers, AccessHope is seeking an AI Technical Program Management Intern to help us uniquely deploy the latest cancer knowledge to the places it’s needed most. As an ideal candidate, you’ll help coordinate and accelerate execution across these initiatives. This role will work at the intersection of AI, product, engineering, clinical teams, and external technology partners. The intern will help translate priorities into executable plans, coordinate stakeholders and vendors, track dependencies and risks, and ensure AI initiatives progress from concept and experimentation toward production readiness.
This is an execution-oriented role suited for someone who is technically curious, highly organized, comfortable working across teams, and interested in how AI products are actually developed and deployed within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
AI Program & Project Management
- Maintain an integrated view of active AI initiatives, milestones, dependencies, owners, risks, and decisions.
- Drive project plans and follow-ups across AI, engineering, product, clinical, operations, security, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate working sessions, document decisions, and ensure actions are completed.
- Identify blockers early and escalate issues requiring leadership decisions.
Vendor & Partner Coordination
- Serve as a coordination point for external AI and technology partners.
- Track vendor deliverables, timelines, technical dependencies, and open questions.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders required for vendor integrations, testing, security reviews, and implementation.
- Help evaluate whether vendor deliverables meet agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.
AI Product Execution
- Help translate business and clinical use cases into structured requirements, workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with technical teams to understand AI architecture, data requirements, integrations, model evaluation, and deployment considerations.
- Coordinate testing and evaluation activities, including tracking accuracy, quality, latency, reliability, and other relevant measures.
- Help maintain documentation of AI capabilities, limitations, assumptions, and validation results.
Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare concise program updates for technology and business leadership.
- Maintain decision logs, risk registers, project dashboards, and meeting outputs.
- Translate technical progress into clear business language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure teams have visibility into what is being built, why it matters, current status, and what decisions are needed.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Business/Technology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, cloud technologies, and AI product development.
- Enough technical fluency to work effectively with engineers and AI/data teams; direct model-development experience is not required.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to APIs, cloud platforms, data pipelines, LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, or AI evaluation.
- Experience with project/product tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Prior internship, academic project, or startup experience involving software or AI product development.
- Interest in healthcare technology or regulated environments.
- Strong project management, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to convert ambiguous discussions into structured plans, owners, and actions.
- Comfortable working across technical, clinical, operational, vendor, and executive stakeholders
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, paid internship opportunity. The role is classified as non-exempt and is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits except for 401k participation.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. We do not provide visa sponsorship or participate in F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT training programs.
Available to work no more than 28 hours per week.
