About the Opportunity:

The AI/ML ENGINEER role involves designing, developing, and implementing custom AI and machine learning software solutions, including pilot projects using Google Gemini AI. This position is key to delivering functional software applications rapidly through agile methodologies. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical problems and integrates AI/ML capabilities with other data-driven solutions, directly impacting the program's ability to meet mission-critical objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML software solutions and pilot projects.
• Develop and manage APIs, including RESTful services and authentication.
• Evaluate and integrate SQL and NoSQL databases based on application needs.
• Apply advanced security practices for database management.
• Collaborate in prototyping teams to deliver working software under tight deadlines.
• Analyze complex problems to create innovative technology and methodological solutions.
• Participate actively in agile processes such as sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

Requirements:

• Residency within the DC, MD, or VA area.
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for CBP Public Trust clearance.
• BA/BS degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages including YAML, JSON, Python, Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Full-stack development skills, including front-end (Angular) and back-end expertise.
• Experience collaborating with Data Science teams on AI/ML, Big Data, or BI integration.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Salary range: $120,000 – $155,000 annually.
• Compensation level (Senior or SME) depends on qualifications and experience.
• Final pay determined by experience, education, and internal equity.
