Air Import Operations Coordinator (US Imports)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Air Import Operations Specialist with proven experience managing air freight import shipments into the United States from A-Z. This role is ideal for logistics and freight forwarding professionals who excel in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of shipments, and are committed to providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage air import shipments to the United States from origin through final delivery.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, airlines, carriers, warehouses, and transportation providers.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively identify potential service disruptions.
• Communicate shipment updates, delays, and resolution plans to customers and stakeholders.
• Arrange cargo recovery, pick-up, and final delivery once freight is released by the airline.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and company procedures.
• Research and evaluate routing, pricing, and transportation options to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain detailed shipment records, tracking updates, and operational notes.
• Resolve customer and vendor issues while maintaining strong business relationships.
• Escalate critical operational issues when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• English proficiency required.
• 1-3 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, International Logistics, Air Import Operations, or International Transportation.
• Hands-on experience managing air import shipments into the United States from A-Z.
• Experience working with international agents and overseas offices.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of Incoterms.
• Experience tracking shipments through airline and logistics platforms.
• Experience processing payments through PayCargo, CargoSprint, Epic, or similar systems.
• Experience coordinating cargo recovery, pick-up, and final delivery after airline release.
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• English proficiency required.
