Apply Description Job Title: Airline Technical Representative FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-time Salary: $140,000 - $175,000, depending on qualifications Location: Various Airport Locations - HYBRID Position Description Summary: The Airline Technical Representative (ATR) supports airline clients by providing technical, operational, and financial advisory services related to airport infrastructure, capital programs, and commercial agreements. Operating within a consulting environment, this role manages multiple client engagements, represents airline interests in airport forums, and delivers data-driven insights that influence infrastructure investment, airline cost structures, and operational performance. Requirements Key Responsibilities Client Advisory & Relationship Management Serve as a trusted advisor to airline clients across a portfolio of airports Manage ongoing client engagements, ensuring alignment with airline strategic objectives Interface with airline corporate teams (finance, real estate, operations) and station leadership Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, reports, and recommendations Airline Representation & Governance Represent airline clients in airline affairs committees, technical working groups, and airport stakeholder meetings Support coordination among multiple airlines to establish unified positions where appropriate Advise clients on governance mechanisms (e.g., majority-in-interest rights, approval processes) Document and communicate key decisions, risks, and action items Operational & Technical Analysis Assess operational impacts of airport development on airline performance (gate utilization, aircraft movements, turnaround times) Evaluate airfield and terminal capacity constraints Provide technical interpretation of engineering and planning concepts for non-technical stakeholders Coordinate with planners, engineers, and construction teams on behalf of clients Capital Program Advisory Represent airline clients in airport capital planning and development programs Review and provide input on terminal, airfield, and support facility design Advise on project scope, phasing, constructability, and operational impacts Support airline positioning on major capital investments and alternatives analysis Construction & Implementation Oversight Monitor active construction programs and identify risks to airline operations Advise on mitigation strategies for phasing, gate closures, and temporary facilities Support airline coordination during implementation to minimize disruption Financial Analysis & Commercial Advisory Analyze airport financial plans, capital expenditures, and operating budgets Evaluate impacts on airline cost metrics (e.g., cost per enplanement, landing fees, terminal rents) Support airline strategy related to rates and charges negotiations Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis tied to capital programs Business Development & Practice Growth Support proposal development, including scope definition, pricing, and technical approach Contribute to thought leadership (white papers, industry insights, conference participation) Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts Assist in building and scaling the firm’s aviation advisory practice Qualifications Required A four-year degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to demonstrate aptitude for the position. Preferred fields of study include Aviation, Engineering, Finance, Economics, and other related fields. 5–12+ years of experience in aviation consulting, airport management, airline planning, or infrastructure advisory Strong knowledge of airport capital programs, airline operations, and rates & charges frameworks Experience managing multiple projects or clients simultaneously Preferred Direct experience supporting airline-airport negotiations or airline affairs committees Familiarity with U.S. airport financial structures (residual vs. compensatory agreements) Experience with financial modeling and data analytics tools MBA or relevant advanced degree Core Competencies Client-facing advisory and executive communication Financial and quantitative analysis Technical fluency in airport planning and operations Stakeholder alignment and negotiation Project and portfolio management Commercial awareness and business development Work Environment Hybrid: combination of office, client sites, and airport environments Travel required (often 20–50%) depending on client portfolio Fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environment with multiple concurrent engagements Performance Metrics (Consulting-Specific) Client satisfaction and retention Quality and timeliness of deliverables Revenue contribution and utilization rate Success in influencing client outcomes (cost savings, operational improvements, negotiated terms) Contribution to new business development Position Impact This role directly influences airline financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic positioning within airport environments. The ATR serves as a critical extension of airline leadership, ensuring that airport investments and policies align with airline priorities across multiple markets. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, bend, use hands to manipulate (type), talk and hear; walk; sit, and lift or move no more than ten (10) pounds.
