Airworthiness & Certification Consultant

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Aircraft Airworthiness & Certification Consultant to provide senior-level technical and organisational advisory support for an aerospace engineering programme.

The consultant will advise on the development and implementation of airworthiness, aircraft certification, compliance verification and design assurance frameworks, working closely with engineering and management teams.

This is a senior advisory role suited to an experienced professional from an aircraft OEM, Design Organisation, aviation authority or aerospace certification organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review Aircraft Certification Strategy and Certification Plan.
• Establish and review Certification Basis, Compliance Programme and Means of Compliance.
• Advise on airworthiness and design assurance processes.
• Develop Compliance Verification / CVE frameworks and procedures.
• Advise on Design Organisation and certification governance.
• Review engineering and certification processes and identify capability gaps.
• Provide guidance on certification evidence, compliance documentation and technical records.
• Advise on interaction with relevant aviation / airworthiness authorities.
• Support organisational capability and competency development.
• Coach senior engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer to the local technical team.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional experience in aircraft airworthiness, certification, aircraft engineering or related aerospace disciplines.
• Proven experience in Aircraft Type Certification, Design Organisation/DOA or Airworthiness.
• Demonstrated experience developing or managing Certification Plans / Certification Programmes.
• Strong knowledge of: Certification Basis, Compliance Demonstration, Means of Compliance, Compliance Verification / CVE, Design Assurance, Airworthiness
• Experience with EASA or military airworthiness frameworks.
• Experience with CS-23, CS-25, CS-27, CS-29, EMAR or equivalent standards is highly desirable.
• Previous experience with an aircraft OEM, Design Organisation, aviation authority or certification consultancy strongly preferred.
• Excellent technical communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong English proficiency.
