AIS Trainer Dual Location - San Jose, CA 95128 Apply Overview Salary Range $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 Salary Position Type Full Time Education Level 2 Year Degree Category Information Technology Apply Epic EHR Trainer The AIS Trainer develops and delivers training to ensure efficient and effective use and adoption of the organization’s Epic EHR, Microsoft 365, and related technology. This role assesses training needs, develops curricula and learning resources, provides onboarding and ongoing education, and supports system upgrades and workflow changes to improve healthcare delivery outcomes. Duties and responsibilities Update and customize overall training and support for Epic system end users to establish core system knowledge; create new curriculum as needed. Deliver in-person, virtual, and role-specific training for Epic, Microsoft 365, and related organizational technologies. Provide onsite and virtual onboarding training for new employees and users transitioning to new roles or responsibilities. Act as the subject-matter expert and mentor for Epic applications and related integrations. Review, test, and lead training on Epic system upgrades relevant to user roles. Provide targeted retraining to address knowledge gaps among existing staff. Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify opportunities to improve clinic operations and healthcare outcomes. Partner with Quality Improvement staff and medical directors to develop standardized workflows and provide training supporting healthcare quality measures (e.g., HEDIS). Monitor usage and quality metrics regularly and produce reports assessing Epic proficiency and efficiency. Recommend operational improvements. Assist the AIS team in implementing EHR system changes and innovations by developing training, preparing users, and facilitating adoption. Deliver comprehensive training on Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint) to ensure effective user adoption. Work collaboratively within the AIS department to achieve shared goals. Complete other duties and related projects as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience: Associate's degree in Health Information Systems, Information Technology, or a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years of Epic EHR experience required, developing workflow documentation, training programs, and delivering training for staff on end-to-end workflows in Epic EHR. Two years of experience providing support to staff in the use of Epic EHR. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Proficient in Epic EHR systems, including experience training and supporting end users (OCHIN Epic preferred). Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff in multiple formats, including onboarding and offboarding. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Proficiency in evaluating training needs and performance gaps using data and feedback to drive improvements. Ability to create workflow documentation, tip sheets, and job aids tailored to roles. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple training assignments in a fast-paced environment while working independently and collaboratively. Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics such as HEDIS Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and workflow analysis. Proficiency in delivering training that adapts to different learning styles. Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies. Knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy standards related to EHR use. Verbal and written fluency in English required; Bilingual skills in a second language (particularly Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese) preferred.
