Ambulatory Applications Manager

This is a remote position.

Superlanet is seeking an Ambulatory Applications Manager for our healthcare client in Texas. This position will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the full lifecycle of Epic ambulatory and specialty applications across a large, integrated healthcare environment. The Ambulatory Applications Manager will lead Epic application teams and partner closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to drive implementation, optimization, system reliability, and workflow improvements that enhance provider experience and patient care. This is a direct hire opportunity, with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for Epic ambulatory and specialty clinical applications throughout implementation, optimization, upgrades, maintenance, and ongoing support.
  
• Lead end-to-end Epic initiatives, including planning, design, build, testing, go-live, stabilization, and optimization.
  
• Manage and mentor Epic Application Analysts, clinical analysts, contractors, and other technical resources.
  
• Partner with physicians, clinical operations, patient access, HIM, and other stakeholders to improve clinical workflows and system design.
  
• Drive alignment and standardization of workflows across complex ambulatory and specialty environments.
  
• Oversee application build integrity, documentation, testing, validation, system performance, and configuration issue resolution.
  
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and vendor relationships for Epic-related initiatives.
  
• Support change management, upgrades, releases, enhancements, training, and end-user adoption.
  
• Ensure applications and processes align with HIPAA, CMS, accreditation, security, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  
• Establish objectives and KPIs for application teams while fostering accountability, technical development, and continuous improvement.
  
• Partner with technical teams to address infrastructure requirements, application integrations, and system performance.
  
• Serve as a key liaison between IT, clinical leadership, operational stakeholders, vendors, and consultants.
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health, Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• 5+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience supporting enterprise clinical applications, including at least 3 years in a related managerial role.
  
• Experience supporting Epic applications such as EpicCare Ambulatory, Behavioral Health, Healthy Planet/Compass Rose, Bones, Kaleidoscope, and/or OpTime/Anesthesia.
  
• Epic training or certification in one or more applicable clinical modules.
  
• Experience working within a large Epic-based hospital or integrated delivery network.
  
• Strong understanding of clinical and healthcare operations, specialty clinic workflows, and provider-facing support.
  
• Knowledge of Epic architecture and IRIS data structures.
  
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
  
• 7+ years of experience supporting Epic clinical applications, including 5+ years in a leadership or management capacity.
  
• Active Epic Certification or Accreditation in one or more relevant modules or technical areas.
  
• Experience with Epic technical environments, including databases, servers, and Nebula.
  
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior leadership on application functionality, efficiency, performance, and strategy.
  
• PMP and/or ITIL Foundation certification.
