Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented AML Operations Analyst to join our AML compliance team. You will act as the first line of defense against financial crime. You will perform Level 1 reviews of transaction monitoring alerts, Know-Your-Transaction (KYT) alerts, and potential sanctions hits.
Because crypto markets never sleep, this role requires working in a 24/7 shift rotation to protect our crypto exchange, on/off-ramp services, and OTC trading operations in real-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Alert Triaging: Conduct initial Level 1 analysis of automated transaction monitoring and KYT alerts.
- Name Screening: Review and clear or escalate potential sanctions hits, PEP matches, and adverse media alerts.
- Shift Coverage: Work flexible hours across a 24/7 rotational schedule to maintain continuous compliance monitoring.
- Risk Assessment: Analyze fiat-to-crypto (on/off ramp) and crypto-to-crypto transactions for suspicious patterns.
- OTC Investigation: Review high-value Over-the-Counter (OTC) deals to ensure proper source of wealth and legitimacy.
- Escalations: Document clear investigative findings and escalate complex or suspicious cases to Level 2/Senior Analysts.
- Handovers: Deliver smooth shift handovers to ensure no critical alerts or investigations are dropped.
Required Qualifications:
- Flexibility: Ability and willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays on a rotational basis.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in AML operations, blockchain analytics, or financial crime compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and recognize financial crime patterns.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to document investigations clearly.
- Crypto Knowledge: Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, crypto wallets, and transaction structures will be preferred.
Preferred Skills (A Plus)
- Compliance Tools: Experience using blockchain analytics tools like Chainalysis, Elliptic, or TRM Labs.
- KYC/KYT Platforms: Familiarity with verification and monitoring tools such as Sumsub or Solidus Labs.
