Salary Range: $59,460.00 To $59,460.00 Annually Analyst – Admissions Regulatory Services Department (RSD) – Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Salary Range: $59,460 to $59,460 + Washington State Employee Benefits and Retirement Plans FLSA: Full-time, Non-Exempt Work Location: Hybrid within Washington State Application Deadline: 10/18/2026 The WSBA's mission is to serve the public and the members of the Bar, to ensure the integrity of the legal profession, and to champion justice. Purpose and Position Summary: The Admissions Analyst applies their knowledge of rules, regulations, bylaws, policies and precedent to fact situations and performs the following duties: reviews and analyzes applications submitted for admission or licensure to practice law in Washington; communicates with and respond to inquiries from the public, applicants and members about the qualifications for a license to practice law in Washington; administration of the bar exams and LPO exams; ensures applicants comply with all regulatory requirements for admission or licensure to practice law; assists the manager with administrative support to the Board of Bar Examiners, including preparing exam answers for grading and releasing exam results. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: R eviews, analyzes, and processes all application types for admission or licensure to practice law in Washington: Evaluates eligibility, verifying required documentation, and assessing applications for compliance with regulatory requirements, including identifying potential legal, character, or fitness issues requiring further inquiry. Conducts preliminary investigations into applicant qualifications as needed, ensures accurate and timely data entry, and requests and tracks supplemental information such as law school certificates and NCBE reports. Assists applicants with completing pre‑admission or additional licensure requirements, performs character and fitness investigations during high‑volume periods or investigator absences, and prepares complete applications and recommendations for prompt submission to the Court. Issues new‑admittee packets or licensure notifications once applicants are approved. Communicates with applicants, members, law students, and the public: Serves as a key point of contact for applicants, members, law students, and the public by responding clearly, professionally, and promptly to inquiries throughout the admissions and licensure process. Clearly communicates eligibility determinations and available pathways for admission or licensure, informs applicants about required information and the consequences of failing to provide it, and follows up to ensure timely receipt of needed materials. Supports presentations and informational sessions on the admissions process as needed. Assists admissions manager with reasonable accommodations requests: Supports the admissions manager in administering reasonable accommodation requests by processing applications, ensuring timely review by appropriate professionals, and coordinating with the admissions manager, regulatory counsel, and the NCBE to secure accommodations and nonstandard exams. Maintains regular communication with applicants to explain requirements, clarify requests, document submissions, and convey recommended accommodations. Collaborates with WSBA consultants to develop and confirm exam accommodations. Assists admissions manager with administration of bar exams and LPO exams: The position assists the admissions manager in administering bar and LPO exams by organizing and preparing all exam materials and supplies, producing registration materials, Heavily involved in the recruiting and training of Bar Exam proctors. It also coordinates vendor RFPs and contract processing and supports on‑site exam administration, including setup, registration, door security, monitoring, scanning exam answers, and assisting proctors throughout the exam process. Assists admissions manager with exam grading and results: Assists the admissions manager with all aspects of exam grading and results by proofing and preparing exam answers for the Board of Bar Examiners, supporting grading‑session logistics and attending Board meetings, and coordinating the full exam‑results process, including transmitting and verifying NCBE scores to ensure accurate and timely release. Prepares exam statistics for publication and distributes results to law schools. Assists the admissions manager with development and maintenance of admissions software and programs: Assists the admissions manager with maintaining and improving admissions software by identifying and verifying user‑interface bugs, coordinating with vendors or WSBA IT for timely resolution, and running system queries and reports. Audits the system to ensure data accuracy, monitors data exchanges with the membership database to maintain data integrity, and prepares and executes user acceptance testing (UAT) for all new system updates or programming. Provides department administrative assistance: The position provides general administrative support to the department by creating, updating, and maintaining forms, web pages, FAQs, and procedure manuals; managing file maintenance, review, retention, and destruction in accordance with WSBA’s retention schedule; sorting and distributing departmental mail, faxes, and deliveries; and managing offsite records, including maintaining inventories and coordinating retrieval. Performs additional duties as assigned: This position is required to travel within Washington; and works occasionally evenings and weekends for Bar Exams, etc. Serves as a designated event liaison, a point of contact for offsite or after-hours WSBA events. Education Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with college-level coursework in law or legal education. Paralegal certificate. Experience Required: 2 years of experience in critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and professional customer service. Experience Preferred: Experience in one or more of the following: Legal field and/or regulatory environment. Web site page creation and/or editing experience. Competencies (Skills/Abilities) Required: Clear, professional written and oral communication to a variety of diverse audiences. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with a variety of stakeholders with responsiveness and clarity. Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize time and work, manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Good judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work. Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment and ethics. Works well both independently with minimal supervision and as a positive member of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn and use new software and technology platforms. Working Conditions: This is a Hybrid - Commutable position and job duties may be performed in person or remotely. All WSBA staff must be flexible to work in office or travel within WA state as deemed necessary, or as required. The WSBA headquarters are the primary location while working for the WSBA regardless of where staff may reside within Washington. WSBA does not offer fully remote positions and reserves the right to require employees to work in-person and on-site at the WSBA headquarters or at any worksite necessary to fulfill job duties. For remote work (if applicable), staff must have an adequate work environment and internet access for performing work of a sensitive and confidential nature. Employment with the Washington State Bar Association mandates that WSBA Staff must reside within the State of Washington at the time of hire, and during active employment status.  The essential functions of the job that must be performed, with or without a reasonable accommodation: This position must be able to regularly work WSBA’s business hours in an office type environment (remote or in office), possess the ability to primarily sit/stand and use a computer, and lift/push/pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
