What you can expect from this position:

Reporting to the Manager, Forecasting and Analytics, you will support aviation business development, forecasting and performance reporting through rigorous commercial analysis. You will turn airline, passenger, cargo and market data into actionable insights that support revenue planning, passenger growth and informed decision-making across the business.

As an Analyst, Aviation Forecasting and Analytics, you will:

  • Analyze airline and route performance using pricing, fare, capacity, passenger profile and other commercial metrics to support revenue and passenger volume goals.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, political and economic trends, and aviation industry developments to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze passenger profiles, airport catchment, segmentation, connectivity and booking behavior to support inventory optimization and revenue growth.
  • Support Air Service account managers with airline business cases and provide analysis for airline partnership programs.
  • Work with Destination Marketing Organizations and Tourism Authorities to uncover business insights and support positive strategic outcomes.
  • Support the development and ongoing refresh of five-year aviation forecasts used in budgeting and revenue planning.
  • Produce monthly management reporting on GTAA aviation and airline performance, including passenger traffic and cargo results.
  • Manage and validate department data and develop dashboards, scorecards, presentations and visualizations for business leaders, senior executives and the Board.
  • Partner across departments on data-driven strategies that improve business processes and decision-making.
  • Review external consultant research and modelling for accuracy and completeness and initiate corrective action when deliverables do not meet expectations.

This unionized position is classified at the Band 8 level, with an hourly wage range of $53.06, based on a 37.5 hour work week. As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to complete a test.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • A university degree or equivalent in Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline, including coursework in statistics, forecasting, economics or transportation economics/airport planning.
  • At least one year of relevant data experience; three or more years of data analytics experience is preferred.
  • Experience applying airport or aviation statistics and using forecasting models, regression or other statistical modelling methods.
  • Advanced, hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and modelling is considered an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

Knowledge and skills you bring, that set-you up for success:

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI capability, including complex formulas, financial models and sensitivity analysis.
  • Ability to assemble, validate, manage and join large, complex data sources and apply advanced statistics to summarize, examine and model performance.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Strategic and critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • A proactive, resourceful and self-directed approach, with the ability to work through ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Knowledge of commercial contract structures, including terms, conditions and decision authority.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and share progress updates proactively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Power BI.
