Analyst, Category Analytics

Location: Working Remote USA

In this role you will:

  • Assist in the development and execution of assortment and POG planning process

  • Develop analysis that will be leveraged to help grow business

  • Develop solutions with respect to product distribution, promotion, pricing, and planogramming

  • Prepare clear and concise business reviews to help deliver executable insights to Customer

  • Participate in various training activities to enhance job performance and personal growth

  • Assist other functional areas to develop business opportunities and provide information to Customers

  • Translate consumer, shopper, category, and retailer insights into actionable growth strategies, category stories, and customer-specific recommendations.

  • Lead development of category analytics deliverables that support Sales, Category Leadership, and cross-functional business partners.

  • Identify customer, channel, and category opportunities that inform joint business planning, strategic account planning, and retailer-specific growth initiatives.

  • Analyze customer business performance using syndicated data, retailer data, customer proprietary data, shopper card data, POS data, and internal financial data.

  • Develop and present category reviews, business reviews, and insights-based recommendations that help grow total category sales and support brand growth.

  • Influence retailer category strategies through account-specific insights, business analysis, and clear recommendations related to distribution, promotion, pricing, and shelf placement.

  • Simplify analytics and business intelligence processes to improve decision-making, increase team effectiveness, and support scalable ways of working.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Insights, Intelligence, Category Strategy, and other functional teams to identify business opportunities and translate insights into execution.

  • Lead or support development of customizable category leadership plans, national category growth stories, retailer-specific action plans, and category roadmaps.

  • Use multiple data sources and analytical tools to identify business risks, competitive threats, growth opportunities, and recommendations that support issue resolution and proactive improvement.

  • Prepare clear and concise analyses and presentations that communicate business trends, consumer trends, existing opportunities, and recommended solutions for growth.

  • Continuously build capability in syndicated data, account-specific data, internal financial data, advanced analytics, visualization, statistical analysis, and presentation skills.

  • Participate in market visits, retail audits, account calls, business planning sessions, shopper insight activities, and information and technology training as needed.

  • Actively invest in personal growth and professional development to prepare for future roles within the organization.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Prior sales, marketing, analytical work experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Strong analytical, computer, written communication, and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and quickly adapt to internal support systems, customer systems, and evolving analytical tools

  • Experience or familiarity with syndicated sales data software such as IRI or Nielsen

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

  • Experience with retailer systems such as Retail Link, Luminate, ATLAS, Crisp, or similar customer-specific systems

  • Experience with ProSpace or other space planning and category management tools

  • Category Management knowledge or experience

  • Experience working with customer teams, sales teams, or cross-functional commercial partners

  • Ability and willingness to build capability for future growth opportunities
