Join us as a Data Engineer and help make the world a safer place through the power of data. You'll play a critical role in designing, building, and optimising scalable data solutions that enable smarter decision-making across the business. Working closely with stakeholders and our Data Product team, you'll develop and support data pipelines, APIs, and data models using GCP and dbt, ensuring our data products are reliable, secure, high quality, and easy to use. What You’ll Do
Monitor data pipelines and data products to ensure they deliver accurate, timely, and accessible data to business users.
Optimise data models and pipeline orchestration jobs to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Investigate data quality and pipeline issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
Manage and execute releases and deployments across higher environments, ensuring changes are thoroughly validated and implemented in accordance with change governance and release management processes.
Communicate release activities, operational updates, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders, providing timely notifications and coordinating any required follow-up actions.
Create and maintain accurate technical, operational, and support documentation to enable effective knowledge sharing, ongoing maintenance, and smooth transition into business-as-usual support.
This is a permanent role and offer a flexible hybrid work model based near any of our major centres across New Zealand and Australia.
What You’ll Bring
2-5 years in data engineering or analytics engineering, with a strong background in software development.
Intermediate skills in SQL, Python, and DBT. Experience with Big Query and the Google Cloud Platform is essential.
Demonstrated experience in implementing AI-driven data testing, optimisation, and governance tools.
Well-versed in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, including experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to creating innovative data solutions.
