Website: https://investinternational.nl Global Gateway | Introduction and context The EU’s Global Gateway initiative aims to mobilize over €300 billion by 2027 for sustainable infrastructure across key sectors like digital, energy, health, and transport. It marks a shift from fragmented aid to an integrated model combining development finance, export support, and private sector engagement — aligning with the EU’s green, digital, and geopolitical priorities. As competition from state-backed actors like China and Japan intensifies, the EU seeks to strengthen coordination between its development and export finance institutions (DFIs and ECAs) to offer a unified alternative. Invest International plays a unique hybrid role in this framework, being the only Dutch and EU partner that integrates financing, project development, and private-sector collaboration, reflecting the Netherlands’ longstanding approach of linking trade and development. As an Implementing Partner appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Invest International is positioned to lead EU-backed infrastructure and development projects that advance both Dutch economic interests and sustainable growth in emerging markets. The Global Gateway Development Team The Global Gateway Development Team (GGDT) will equip Invest International with the capacity to originate, structure, and finance complex infrastructure and other strategic projects, particularly those aligned with the EU Global Gateway initiative and Dutch international economic priorities. The Team will initially be incubated within the Business Strategy and Innovation Unit to develop GG related infrastructure investment pipeline for IIPP and IICC and leverage EU and other funding sources. The GGDT will operate with a core team of 10 FTEs over time, supported by additional expertise as required. The Team will utilise Invest International's existing IT, legal, compliance, risk, and finance processes and systems. The GGDT will require a carefully structured human resource plan to support its growth trajectory from establishment through maturity. The position Job grade: 14 Role Purpose The Analyst – Global Gateway Corridors supports the development and preparation of large-scale, blended-finance infrastructure and trade corridor projects under the EU Global Gateway initiative. The Analyst translates large volumes of project-related data into actionable insights that inform decision-making, investment readiness, and strategic alignment. Working under the guidance of the Programme Manager and senior team members, the Analyst contributes to the commercial and financial assessment of projects, market research, sectoral analysis, and project documentation. The role requires strong analytical skills, curiosity, and the ability to connect technical, commercial, and developmental dimensions of complex international projects. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Information Management Collect, organise, and analyse project data (financial, technical, ESG, and market) to produce structured information for decision-making. Maintain central project databases, trackers, and document repositories, ensuring data quality and accessibility. Support the consolidation of feasibility study outputs, consultant reports, and stakeholder inputs into clear summaries. 2. Commercial & Financial Analysis Support the assessment of project business models, cost structures, and revenue assumptions. Conduct basic financial analysis, including financial model interpretation and sensitivity analysis. Assist in preparing commercial assessments, market soundings, and operator/sponsor overviews. Contribute to internal briefings and presentations supporting project appraisal and investment readiness. 3. Market & Sectoral Research Conduct sectoral and market research to inform corridor strategy and identify potential partners, sponsors, and investment opportunities. Prepare short analytical notes and country/market briefs for management and project teams. Track policy, industry, and donor developments relevant to corridor-based infrastructure projects. 4. Project Coordination Support Assist project managers in tracking progress against milestones and deliverables. Coordinate information flow between technical, financial, and stakeholder workstreams. Prepare meeting materials, minutes, and status reports, ensuring consistency and follow-up across the team. 5. Institutional & Partner Liaison Support communication and reporting to partners such as the EU, MoFA, and DFIs. Liaise with consultants, advisors, and institutional partners to align data and deliverables. Participate in workshops, missions, and meetings with project stakeholders where relevant. Master’s degree in Development Economics, Finance, Engineering, International Development, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in development finance, project preparation, consulting, or infrastructure-related analysis. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with ability to interpret financial statements and business models, combined with Strong problem solving attitude and skills. Experience in market and sectoral research, and translating data into decision-support tools. Excellent writing and presentation skills; capable of producing clear summaries and visual materials. Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SharePoint, Power BI, or data management and analytics tools is a prerequisite. Excellent command of English and Dutch. Affinity with emerging markets, sustainable development, and infrastructure investment. Competencies Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to synthesise complex information and present clear insights. What we offer Salary scale 14: this indicates a monthly gross salary range between €4,110 and €4.881, excluding holiday allowance and 13th month based on a 40-hour workweek.
