About the Process The Strategic and Financial Advice (SFA) business line within the Financial Services department (FIN) aims to enhance corporate performance through planning, financial analysis, strategic investment governance, performance monitoring, and reporting. We are hiring two 24-month term Analyst positions in Strategic and Financial Advice: Financial Insights and Performance: supports monitoring and reporting of the Bank’s financial performance for management and the Board. Strategic Financial Enablement: provides analytical support to business partners serving Information Technology Services and Data and Digital Services Note : Candidates are encouraged to indicate their preference during the application process. The Selection Committee will determine which role is suitable for candidates based on interest once the interviews have been completed. What you will do Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Financial Insights and Performance or the Assistant Director, FIN-ITS Partnering, you provide proactive support and insight with regards to financial accounting, reporting and analysis. You will provide analytical support for month-end closing, monthly and quarterly financial reporting, annual planning and forecasting, and analysis of data gathered from internal and external sources. Furthermore, you will be required to establish and analyze processes and controls to support team operations and ensure ongoing effectiveness, analyze transactional data to identify irregularities and minimize operational risk, and collaborate with colleagues to improve processes and address issues as they arise. These accountabilities support the production of various internal reports and overall financial management for the Bank. You will build strong relationships with financial business partners, project coordinators, and stakeholders from multiple corporate business lines to enable you in your responsibilities, including leading the month-end reporting cycle and supporting the annual planning and forecast exercises. You will ensure the continuous improvement and automation of support tools and processes by working closely with colleagues and review existing controls and systems and propose additional controls, when necessary. More specifically, you will: Analyze and report on financial performance by preparing clear insights on trends, variances, risks and business drivers to support management and Board reporting. Support planning, budgeting and forecasting by preparing analysis, consolidating information and helping teams understand financial results and outlooks. Coordinate month-end activities by working with stakeholders to support timely and accurate closing, journal entry review, transaction validation and reporting requirements. Strengthen processes and controls by reviewing existing practices, identifying issues or risks, documenting controls and recommending practical improvements. Build effective relationships with financial business partners, project coordinators and stakeholders across corporate business lines to support strong service delivery and shared outcomes. Improve tools and ways of working by supporting automation, dashboarding and other improvements that make financial information easier to use and understand. What you need to succeed Be a team-player who takes initiative, is well organized and detail-oriented, and can ensure the completion of high-quality, timely deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Have experience and/or have strong interest in financial planning and analysis and internal financial management. Demonstrate strong data and AI literacy skills by effectively interpreting, evaluating, and clearly presenting data to highlight key insights and support decisions. Seek out and analyze information to draw logical conclusions, and be able to identify, consolidate, and prioritize issues, and translate them into improvement plans. Be accurate and efficient in your work and client-focused with your internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate initiative, curiosity and sound judgement while operating effectively in a changing environment. Have strong interpersonal skills and are an active listener with effective oral and written communication skills. Maintain a continuous improvement mindset. Have advanced technical skills with Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, graphs, dashboards), Word and Outlook, and intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint. Nice-to-have Knowledge of the Bank’s functions, strategic priorities, policies and governance processes. Experience with SAP, Blackline, Workday Adaptive or business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Fabric. Experience with month-end processes, journal entries or account reconciliations. Your education and experience CPA designation in good standing or be actively working toward one with at least 50% of the program completed, and; A minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience, including experience in financial accounting or financial planning and analysis, and reporting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $73,511 to $86,484 (job grade 14) The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
