About the Team

In a decentralized setup, who provides technical support, tools, and training to the domains? Who makes sure transactions are compliant and efficient? Who monitors and reports on the overall health of data operations?

Central Data does. Our work focuses on 4 areas:

Data Platform - enable data nerds by providing a modern, easy to use and robust data stack
Data Governance - ensure secure and efficient data operations
Data Literacy - improve intelligent decision-making
Machine Learning & AI Program - promote AI usage and contribute to LichtBlick’s Strategic AI Program as one of its workstreams

Your Roll:

In our decentralized data setup, a Central Data team enables business-aligned data experts through our self-serve platform, governance, and literacy. Simply put, Central Data builds and owns the data flywheel and the data owning domains make it turn.As an Analytics specialist in our team, you make that flywheel spin faster on the analytics side. You own how analytics works at LichtBlick, you connect the central team with the domains, and you keep our whole data ecosystem moving forward.

Own and evolve our analytics platform

  • Take ownership of our mature analytics setup: architecture, tools, standards, and governance, from workspace concepts to transformation logic to semantic models. You keep it reliable and make it better
  • Own the analytics tools and infrastructure of our self-serve platform, and embed our governance principles together with your Central Data teammates (we strive for automated governance)
  • Keep our analytics engineering DNA strong: build end-to-end analytics pipelines for datasets owned by Central Data, with modern, version-controlled transformation practices.
Take ownership of our data marketplace tool, the management cockpit for our data, metadata, and data contracts
  • Co-develop, measure, and publish governance KPIs as part of our monitoring and reporting

Push automation and AI-driven analytics

  • Bring automation to another level, for instance by fully utilizing machine-readable data products and contracts
  • Explore, prototype, and ship agentic analytics use cases, for example natural-language access to data or agentified CI pipelines
  • Test new tools and trends early, decide what is worth scaling, and bring the domains along

Be the glue of our data community

  • Stay in close contact with analysts and engineers in the data-owning domains. Understand their needs and blockers, and translate them into what Central Data needs to deliver
  • Drive our Data Literacy program and upskill colleagues across the company
  • Be the voice of our analytics story: present new trends and our learnings at internal and external events, and make people excited about data

Your Skills:

What’s essential for this role:

  • You have a degree or equivalent practical experience in Analytics Engineering or other Analytics-centric fields
  • You have 5+ years of experience in the Analytics field and high professional maturity
  • You feel equally comfortable with and have hands-on expert knowledge of modern BI and data transformation tools
  • You use AI tools in your daily work and have ideas or first experience with agentic analytics
  • You have practical experience with, and a genuine interest in, data governance, ideally in a decentralized or data mesh-like environment
  • You enjoy working and communicating with teammates, colleagues, and stakeholders alike
  • You speak up for your beliefs in professional discussions, stay open to better arguments, and keep the bigger picture in mind
  • You follow new trends because you can't help it, and you're always up for learning something new
  • You communicate clearly and confidently in English, and you can explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences alike
