The Role

Join Kyndryl as an Application Consultant and become a catalyst for innovation and transformation. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of driving change and enabling our customers to harness the power of technology to achieve their business ambitions. You'll collaborate with customers across a diverse range of industries, tailoring innovative solutions to meet their unique business and technology requirements, with a particular focus on Workday and enterprise application solutions.

As a trusted advisor, you'll build strong relationships with our customers, gaining deep insights into their business objectives, operational requirements, and long-term aspirations. Armed with this understanding, you'll provide expert guidance on how technology, including Workday HCM and related Workday capabilities, can be leveraged to improve business processes, enhance the employee experience, increase operational efficiency, and support broader digital transformation initiatives.

You'll work closely with business, HR, technical, and application stakeholders to analyze, configure, support, enhance, and optimize Workday solutions. This may include evaluating existing Workday configurations and business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing functional requirements, supporting configuration changes, and ensuring solutions align with customer business objectives and enterprise technology standards.

From aligning business processes with technology to developing, configuring, integrating, and deploying solutions, you'll play an important role throughout the application lifecycle. Your knowledge of Workday functionality, application configuration, integrations, data management, security concepts, and application development and deployment best practices will help ensure seamless integration, reliable operation, and optimized application performance.

In this role, your impact will be significant. You'll conduct thorough needs assessments to identify requirements for new Workday functionality, enhancements to existing Workday capabilities, integrations with other enterprise platforms, and upgrades or changes to non-Workday applications. You'll document these requirements using established Business Analysis (BA) methodologies, including comprehensive use cases, requirements traceability, business process flows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.

Drawing upon your analytical and consulting skills, you'll gather requirements from business and technical stakeholders and translate them into clear functional and nonfunctional requirements for Workday and other enterprise applications. You'll help customers evaluate how Workday functionality can support their business requirements and determine where configuration, integration, process changes, or complementary applications may be required.

As part of our customers' application modernization and transformation initiatives, you'll guide them through each stage of the application lifecycle, ensuring their solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with their future business requirements. For Workday HCM environments, this may include supporting areas such as Core HCM, business processes, organizational structures, security, reporting, integrations, data conversion, testing, release management, and production support, depending on customer requirements and project scope.

Your expertise will also come into play as you assist customers in selecting, configuring, and optimizing packaged and SaaS solutions to fulfill their business needs. You'll help customers determine when Workday capabilities can satisfy requirements and when integration with other enterprise applications or specialized solutions is necessary.

Collaboration will be your cornerstone as you work closely with Workday functional and technical resources, application architects, integration specialists, developers, business analysts, project managers, HR stakeholders, and other technical subject matter experts to bring solutions to life. You'll analyze requirements and carefully plan design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and implementation activities while adhering to established time, cost, security, and quality objectives.

You'll also consult with customers on application compatibility and implementation considerations, including Workday integrations, APIs and integration technologies, identity and access management, data conversion and migration, security, testing, training, change management, and downstream/upstream application dependencies. Your holistic approach will help ensure solutions integrate effectively within the customer's broader enterprise technology landscape.

In this fast-paced environment, you'll also help customers evaluate multiple applications and packaged solutions. Your insights and judgment will enable customers to make informed technology decisions based on business capabilities, integration requirements, cost, complexity, scalability, and long-term strategic objectives. Where Workday is part of the customer's application landscape, you'll help ensure that Workday solutions and integrations align with broader enterprise architecture and business transformation strategies.

• 5+ years of experience in application development, implementation, deployment, configuration, or application support.
• 5+ years of experience supporting application transformation, migration, modernization, or SaaS-based enterprise solutions.
• Experience working with Workday applications, preferably Workday HCM, in a functional, technical, application support, implementation, or consulting capacity.
• Working knowledge of Workday HCM functionality, business processes, organizational structures, configuration, security, reporting, and application administration.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into Workday functional requirements, configuration changes, business process improvements, integrations, or application enhancements.
• Experience supporting Workday application lifecycle activities, including requirements analysis, configuration, testing, deployment, production support, enhancement, and release-related activities.
• Experience troubleshooting Workday application, configuration, business process, data, security, and integration issues, working with business and technical teams through resolution.
• Understanding of Workday integrations and enterprise integration concepts, including APIs, web services, data interfaces, inbound/outbound integrations, and integration with HR, identity, payroll, finance, and other enterprise platforms.
• Experience with application architecture, middleware, integration, and data management concepts.
• Working knowledge of enterprise technologies, including BI and reporting, database principles, SQL, SaaS applications, operating systems, cloud technologies, identity and access management, and networking concepts.
• Strong technical acumen and working knowledge of Agile methods, service architecture, SaaS solutions, and enterprise cloud integration.
• Strong analytical and Business Analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, functional specifications, testing, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• Strong ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships with HR stakeholders, business teams, Workday functional and technical teams, architects, application support teams, vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to operate within enterprise governance, security, change management, incident management, and application support processes.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience with one or more Workday HCM functional areas, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent and Performance, Absence, Time Tracking, or related capabilities.
• Experience with Workday business process configuration, security administration, reporting, calculated fields, and organizational structures.
• Experience with Workday integration technologies and tools, such as Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Web Services/APIs, Core Connectors, or Workday Studio.
• Experience supporting Workday reporting, dashboards, data extracts, and operational reporting requirements.
• Experience with Workday data conversion, data validation, testing, and reconciliation associated with implementations, enhancements, or integrations.
• Experience supporting Workday releases, regression testing, production changes, defect resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience working with Workday implementation partners, managed service providers, or distributed application support teams.
• SaaS or enterprise application implementation experience with platforms such as Workday, Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM, Oracle E-Business Suite, NetSuite, Infor, Unit4, PeopleSoft, SAP, Lawson, or similar enterprise solutions.
• Experience with application modernization and application assessment tools, such as CAST.
