Application Engineer - HVAC/R

The Impact You'll Make As an Application Engineer with Danfoss Climate Solutions , you’ll use your HVAC and refrigeration expertise to help original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers across Canada and North America solve technical challenges and confidently apply the right solutions. This is a fully remote position based in Canada , combining home-based flexibility with direct customer engagement. You’ll be the technical connection between customers, sales teams, and Danfoss engineering and manufacturing teams, helping move opportunities from product selection through qualification and successful application. Your expertise will strengthen customer relationships, support business growth, and help bring innovative air conditioning and refrigeration solutions to market. What You’ll Be Doing Partner with key account and sales teams to understand customer needs, deliver technical presentations and training, support new product introductions, and develop value-based solutions that grow the business. Guide customers through product selection and qualification , translating application requirements into appropriate component and system solutions while coordinating with Danfoss technical experts. Support product installation and system start-ups by providing hands-on technical guidance, troubleshooting application challenges, and helping customers achieve successful implementation. Build strong relationships with OEM customers through regular visits, identifying technical success factors and opportunities to improve performance and customer experience. Connect customers with Danfoss expertise by collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and marketing teams across North America and globally to resolve issues and support continuous improvement. What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline . Relevant professional experience with a minimum of 5 years in HVAC or Refrigeration systems , including experience with refrigeration, hydronics, chillers, air conditioning, or related technologies, ideally experience in design or development. Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate customer applications, recommend solutions, and communicate complex technical information clearly. A self-directed and collaborative approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships with customers and colleagues while working effectively in a remote environment . Ability to travel approximately 40% , including customer visits within Canada and North America and occasional international travel.
