Application Packaging Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 6-8 years.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for an experienced Application Packaging Engineer with strong expertise in modern Microsoft technologies to join a leading Public Sector organization with multiple locations across the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will be responsible for packaging, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise applications while ensuring a stable, secure, and efficient digital workplace.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Package, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications in Microsoft environments.
• Ensure compliance with customer policies, standards, and procedures for application deployment.
• Analyze and gather technical requirements for application software.
• Develop, support, and maintain application packages to meet evolving business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application installation issues on end-user devices.
• Investigate and resolve issues where applications are not visible or available in the Company Portal.
• Verify that packaged applications function correctly after installation and match the original source application.
• Publish and manage both required and available applications across enterprise devices.
• Analyze application deployment and cache logs to identify and resolve packaging or deployment failures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, endpoint management, and support teams to ensure reliable software delivery.
• Maintain application packaging documentation and follow established operational processes.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Proven experience as an Application Packaging Engineer in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Management and modern workplace technologies.
• Experience with application packaging and software deployment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for application installation and deployment issues.
• Experience managing applications through the Company Portal.
• Knowledge of application deployment policies, compliance, and best practices.
• Ability to analyze deployment, installation, and cache logs to diagnose issues.
• Experience supporting enterprise Windows desktop environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
