Application Services Engineer

Job description:

Help make critical applications reliable, secure and ready for change by connecting application owners, technical specialists and suppliers.

As an application services engineer, you help develop Application Support from reactive, ticket driven execution into a proactive partnership with application owners and value streams. You combine operational ownership with lifecycle management, supplier governance risk awareness and continuous improvement to make application services more reliable, resilient and ready for change.

In an organisation of around 1,900 people undergoing change, you will have substantial responsibility and the opportunity to make a visible difference.

How you will make a difference

In this role you will improve how colleagues get help with the applications they rely on, while Triodos changes how it works.

You will work closely with application owners and value streams to prioritise operational reliability, lifecycle work and future changes together. Within your first year, application owners and internal customers should experience clearer ownership, more predictable follow-up and better visibility of application health, risks and lifecycle priorities.”

In practice, you will:

• Partner with application owners and value streams to develop application roadmaps, balance operational reliability with future change, and assess whether applications continue to deliver sufficient business value

• Build effective relationships with external suppliers, challenge them on service quality and structural improvements, and coordinate escalations when reliability or continuity is at risk

• Identify operational, lifecycle and continuity risks, keep support documentation and recovery arrangements current, and contribute to audit and compliance activities where required.

• Use data, monitoring, automation and AI-supported tools to reduce repetitive work, prevent incidents and improve the quality and predictability of application services.”

• Seek out colleagues and solutions when work stalls, helping departments move towards a resolution.

Your future colleagues

You will join the Application Services team within Platforms & Infrastructure and report to the Team Lead Application Support & Authorisation Management. You will collaborate internationally on shared applications, operational standards and supplier services across the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Spain

What you will bring

• Proven experience improving enterprise application services beyond day-to-day incident handling, using operational insights to strengthen reliability, lifecycle management and service quality.

• Experience influencing application owners, technical teams and suppliers to address recurring issues and deliver structural improvements.

• Ability to identify and manage operational, lifecycle, security and continuity risks across complex application environments.

• Demonstrated ownership of application reliability and continuous improvement across teams and suppliers.

• Experience contributing to application roadmaps and helping application owners balance operational stability, business value and future change.

• Ability to challenge suppliers on service quality, performance, resilience and structural solutions when agreed outcomes are not being achieved.

• Experience using monitoring, service data, automation or AI-supported tools to identify trends, prevent incidents and reduce repetitive work.

• Ability to translate complex technical issues and risks into clear priorities, decisions and actions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• A yearly salary between € 60.237 and € 82.838 based on a 36-hour workweek. The fixed annual salary is calculated by multiplying the monthly salary by 13.96, including the 13th month and holiday pay.
