The Applications Developer I position within the Muma College of Business (MDOB) Financial Management (FM) team assists with developing and maintaining reports and web applications that enhance academic coordination across the college. Working under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Financial Management, the Applications Developer I is expected to apply technical knowledge and skills to help plan, develop, update, and maintain static websites, web applications, databases, and servers. The position also assists in developing effective reporting tools to support the business unit's information requirements using SQL and appropriate visualizations (such as Microsoft Power BI). The position may also help with supporting other MCOB web development and technical needs, as required. Develops and maintains web applications to meet requirements and current professional standards. Debugs, refactors, and maintains existing code. Applies updates to website content. Develops effective reporting tools needed to support the business unit's information requirements using SQL and appropriate visualization tools (such as Microsoft Power BI). Debugs, refactors, and maintains existing reports. Gathers, documents, and analyzes specifications and requirements for use during development. Designs, implements, and maintains relational databases to support applications and reporting needs. Assists with maintaining and supporting server and database environments. Deployschanges to test and production environments when appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent with three years of work experience in positions with fiscal support duties. College or other relevant post-secondary coursework may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field; proficiency in developing web applications using C# and ASP.NET, .Net Razor pages, and basic knowledge of Power BI. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training. Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate ( https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310 ) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S. SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements A public employer may include a post-secondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed: (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree; (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree; (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
