AppMod Engineer (Apigee)

Job Description

We are looking for an Application Modernization Engineer with a strong focus on Apigee: in-depth knowledge with a strong preference for Apigee OPDK (on-premises); Apigee Hybrid competence is also acceptable. The key combination is GKE + Apigee. The role can be based anywhere in the EMEA / EU region, in a hybrid setup: mostly remote, with regional travel roughly 1–2 times every two months for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery, for 6+ months with an immediate start.

Core Responsibilities

• Domain Expertise: Provide expertise in application design and development, including API management and Apigee implementation.
• Application Development: Work with customers to design and develop applications on GKE and Cloud Run.
• Technical Advisory: Act as a technical advisor and troubleshoot customer issues.
• Best Practices: Create best practice recommendations, tutorials, articles, and sample code.
• Onsite Delivery: Travel within the EU for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• GCP application development: Apigee, Angular, GKE, and application migration.
• Technical stack: GCE, Cloud Run, GKE Networking, firewall rules, IAM roles/policies, gCloud, REST, JSON, YAML, Protobuf, gRPC.
• Infrastructure as Code: proven track record automating enterprise infrastructure provisioning with Terraform.
• Infrastructure CI/CD: designing and maintaining automated pipelines (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).
• Apigee X: solid knowledge of organization topologies, environments, environment groups, instances, and endpoint attachments.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical consulting experience.
• Architecture and development of production-grade, internet-scale software using Cloud Asset Inventory, OpenTelemetry, Cloud Build, and Cloud Deploy.
