Job Summary The Appraisal Reviewer will review appraisals of 1 - 4 family residential properties on a nationwide level, provided by external appraisal vendors, for quality of development and appropriate report content to ensure that the primary risk factors associated with the collateral have been addressed and that the appraisals are prepared in accordance with the requirements of FIRREA, USPAP and Interagency guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conducts a thorough review of appraisals, review products and any additional data based on logical analysis with the purpose of determining appraisal quality, value support and compliance with regulatory guidelines. Researches public records and other data sources to verify and support the data and opinions within the valuation products and prepares detailed written documentation of the results of the review using internal review forms. If discrepancies are noted within the appraisal, the reviewer will communicate with the appraisal vendor and request correction and/or additional information. Interacts with the appraisal vendors and the internal origination, processing and underwriting staffs, and other clients to facilitate the processing and review of valuation products. Assists with other assigned duties or projects as requested by management. Position Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED required, BA/BS preferred Minimum license level: Certified Residential Appraiser, FHA approved preferred Experience Minimum of 3 years of combined field and desk appraisal experience or equivalent. Experience in a mortgage / lending institution preferred. Must have a current Residential Certified license+ in good standing. National or regional review experience preferred. Functional/Technical Skills Knowledge of appraisal practice and forms used in completing appraisals required. Organized, self-starter, with ability to be flexible to the changing needs of the department. Demonstrated working knowledge of regulations affecting the appraisal industry to include FIRREA, USPAP and the Interagency Guidelines. High degree of analytical capabilities. Communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows, as well as internal valuation tools/applications. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment Environmental/Physical Demands Work is typically performed in a standard office environment.
