Keep progress visible. Bring people together. Help apprentices reach the finish line.
An apprenticeship is a journey, and somebody needs to keep a clear view of the whole thing.
As our Apprenticeship Reviewer, you’ll manage an allocated caseload of apprentices from induction through to Gateway and End Point Assessment.
An apprenticeship is a journey, and somebody needs to keep a clear view of the whole thing.
As our Apprenticeship Reviewer, you’ll manage an allocated caseload of apprentices from induction through to Gateway and End Point Assessment.
You’ll complete regular progress reviews, work closely with employers, monitor attendance and progress and make sure actions are clear and followed through. When an apprentice starts to fall behind, you’ll spot it early, understand what is getting in the way and coordinate the right support.
You’ll also be an important pastoral contact for apprentices. Sometimes that means celebrating progress. Sometimes it means having a constructive conversation about attendance, missed targets or what needs to change.
The role brings together people, information and action. You’ll work with apprentices, employers and colleagues across teaching, assessment, support and MIS to keep each apprenticeship moving.
What you’ll do
- Manage an allocated caseload of apprentices.
- Complete regular tripartite progress reviews with apprentices and employers.
- Monitor attendance, progress, achievement and expected completion dates.
- Set and follow up SMART targets and clear action plans.
- Identify apprentices who are falling behind and coordinate recovery activity.
- Track progress towards Gateway and End Point Assessment.
- Support apprentices with barriers to learning, wellbeing and progression.
- Monitor Functional Skills and off-the-job training where required.
- Build strong working relationships with employers.
- Keep OneFile and college records accurate and up to date.
- Identify and escalate safeguarding, compliance or health and safety concerns.
- Support apprentice progression and destination planning.
What you’ll bring
- Experience supporting young people and/or adults to achieve successful outcomes.
- Experience managing a caseload or coordinating individual progress.
- A good understanding of apprenticeships and the apprentice journey.
- Confidence completing progress reviews and agreeing meaningful targets.
- Strong communication skills with apprentices, employers and colleagues.
- Good pastoral skills and an understanding of barriers to learning.
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence using data and performance information to identify risk.
- Good digital skills and experience maintaining accurate electronic records.
- Experience using OneFile or another apprenticeship e-portfolio would be helpful.
What you’re like
- Proactive. You notice when progress is slipping and act early.
- Organised. You keep caseloads, reviews and actions on track.
- Supportive. Apprentices know they can talk to you, but they also know what is expected.
- Persistent. You follow things through rather than allowing actions to drift.
- Clear. You make progress, concerns and next steps easy to understand.
- Employer-aware. You build professional relationships that support successful apprenticeships.
- Analytical. You use data and information to spot risk and prioritise action.
- Collaborative. You bring the right people together when an apprentice needs support.
Essentials
- Level 2 English and maths, or equivalent.
- You’ll need an enhanced DBS check. If you get the job, we’ll do this for you.
- You’re committed to safeguarding, Prevent and inclusion.
- You can travel to employer premises and college locations as required.
- You’re willing to keep your apprenticeship knowledge current and complete role-related professional development.
Why work with us?
Apprentices don’t succeed because of one conversation or one assessment.
Successful apprenticeships depend on people noticing what is happening, acting early when progress slips and making sure apprentices, employers and the college stay connected.
That’s where this role matters.

You’ll help apprentices understand where they are, what they need to do next and where to get support. You’ll help employers stay involved and informed. And you’ll help us make sure apprentices are progressing towards successful completion, rather than discovering problems when it is too late.
