Approved Newsletter Link Checker

Office Administration / Marketing Administration / Remote
Full-time or part-time · £24.00–£26.00 an hour

A newsletter can be ready in every other respect and still send readers to a missing page.

The Approved Newsletter Link Checker reviews the links in an assigned draft against the destinations supplied by the marketing team. You would click through, record an incorrect or broken route and confirm the final approved version has been checked before it is passed on. This remote work is a careful pre-send check, not ownership of the newsletter’s audience, copy or schedule.

The role is straightforward but calls for attention to context. A link may open successfully yet lead to the wrong article or registration page. You would compare the wording around it with the intended destination and the team’s source list. If two destinations look plausible, you would ask the editor which one is approved. You would not choose based on what you think might attract more clicks. The completed check gives the person responsible for sending a clear list of links tested and any issue still pending.

The check before a message goes out

You may receive a preview of an email and a short document listing the approved destinations. Start with the visible buttons and text links, open each in a browser and confirm that the content matches the promised destination. Note a broken page, a link to an older document or a button pointing to a draft site. If a replacement link is supplied, test it again. Some mail systems add tracking to links; training will explain which version you should review. Your task ends when the check is documented, not when you personally decide to send a campaign.

You should also be aware of the recipient’s experience. A reader who selects ‘view the guide’ expects the guide, not an unrelated homepage. That is a customer service consideration even though you may never answer the resulting enquiry directly. Accurate links help the organisation respect people’s time. The role does not involve analysing marketing performance or collecting audience data.

When the same destination appears in more than one place, you would check each link in its own context. A button may have been corrected while a text link farther down still points to the old page. Equally, a footer link may be part of an approved standard layout and outside the specific campaign request. The team will explain the scope of a check; you should note a concern outside that scope without altering unrelated material. This helps the reviewer distinguish an issue that blocks the assigned draft from a separate maintenance task.

Useful skills

You can use a web browser confidently, keep a short record of results and explain a problem precisely. Instead of writing ‘bad link’, you can identify the button, its current destination and the page it should reach according to the approved source. You should be comfortable checking the final preview after a correction, because changing a link in one draft does not guarantee the version being sent contains the fix. The employer will teach its email editor and review procedure.

Related office administration or marketing experience is welcome, but not required. Someone who has checked links in coursework, helped maintain a club page or carefully reviewed documents can bring relevant habits. We encourage applicants with little or no formal experience if they can follow an instruction and avoid treating a page that merely loads as proof the link is correct. No coding or advertising expertise is needed.

The work may arrive as a defined set of links for one message or as several smaller checks over time. You would keep completed and unresolved checks distinct. When a send is approaching and an issue remains, flag it to the responsible colleague; do not quietly mark the entire newsletter cleared. The company will define its approval route and who decides whether a campaign can proceed.

This remote position can be offered with full-time or part-time hours. A home office area where you can compare the newsletter and destination pages side by side is helpful. The pay is £24.00–£26.00 per hour. You would use approved online systems and learn the team’s process during training.

Put your name forward

You may use your CV to highlight accurate checking, web browsing or a clear written report of an error. A marketing job title is not necessary. We want someone who understands the difference between a working link and the correct link. If you’re selected for the next step, you may be asked to complete an application on the hiring company’s website. The company can then consider how your practical experience fits this particular opening.
