Koniag Technology Solutions, inc a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Architect/DevOps Engineer to support KTS and our government customer. The position is remote. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

This position will be part of a team supporting a Federal client with a business and IT modernization project.
The Architect/DevOps Engineer designs the overall technical structure of the ERAS Platform and ensures reliable, secure, and automated deployment of the system. This person bridges system design with day-to-day operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and document a scalable, multi-tenant system architecture that supports 10+ USDA agencies
- Ensure architecture aligns with cloud.gov hosting requirements and federal data standards
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI) for automated builds, testing, and deployments
- Implement and maintain Zero Trust Architecture per NIST SP 800-207
- Ensure all data is encrypted at rest and in transit using FIPS 140-2 validated solutions
- Manage deployment scripts and infrastructure configuration as the system evolves
- Support API design for integration with USDA mission systems
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and support security assessments and penetration testing
- Ensure systems meet 99.99% availability requirements during business hours
- Maintain an inventory of all devices and media storing sensitive government information
- Ensure all software components are supported and not end-of-life
Required Skills:
- Experience designing cloud-native, microservices-based architectures
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code
- Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and Zero Trust principles
- Familiarity with cloud.gov or similar government cloud platforms
- Experience with API design and integration patterns
- DevSecOps experience, including OWASP ZAP, Snyk, or similar security tools

Education & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in systems architecture and DevOps or infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years focused on federal government systems
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud-native architectures on platforms such as cloud.gov, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for federal software systems
- Experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture and supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent strongly preferred. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar security certifications are a plus
