As an Architectural Metals Estimator on the Major Projects and Architectural Team at Jones, you will play a key role in developing accurate cost projections for high-profile projects across the United States, including professional sports venues, casinos, convention centers, and large-scale commercial developments. In this role, you will analyze bid documents, architectural drawings, and conceptual designs to produce precise estimates and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes. Why This Role Matters: You won’t just estimate projects—you’ll help bring some of the most recognizable environments in the country to life while contributing to high-visibility, complex builds. Duties and Expectations: Prepare project estimates by reviewing and analyzing RFP’s, blueprints, specifications, and related documentation. Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labor, and materials. Create Bills of Materials (BOM) for assigned projects. Identify potential risks related to scope, cost, manufacturability, and installation, and communicate findings effectively. Gather and analyze data to resolve discrepancies and ensure estimate accuracy. Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Complete bid forms, qualifications, and supporting documentation per the RFP. Present estimates and cost strategies in bid reviews and production meetings. Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, clients, architects, designers, contractors, and vendors. Conduct ongoing research on labor costs, materials, and industry trends to support estimating accuracy. Continuously enhance technical knowledge through training, industry resources, and professional development. Education, Experience, and Skills: Associate’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 3–5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction preferred. Strong understanding of construction principles and ability to read architectural drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and ERP systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
