DESCRIPTION AREMA ANNUAL CONFERENCE & EXPO ATTENDEES Michael Baker International is hiring for a variety of Full-Time and Internship positions for our Rail & Transit practice. With a hybrid work environment, you will work under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager in the development of track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of mainline, industrial, yard and terminal projects with various freight and transit clients. We have available opportunities in Construction Services, Rail Bridge, Rail Track, Planning, and Civil Assignments. Additional tasks may include: Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Rail and Bridge Design projects Perform horizontal and vertical alignment design calculations Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers within large multi-disciplinary design team Periodically perform rail or bridge site inspections Work closely with professional engineers to execute rail or bridge design tasks Prepare structural designs/ analysis, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and load rating calculations Perform structural element design calculations Review bridge record plans and develop them within CAD PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (obtained or currently pursuing) Pursuing Fundamentals of Engineering exam (Passed) and Engineer in Training (EIT) certification are preferred Familiarity with various CAD and Microsoft Office programs with the potential ability to produce high quality design documents, exhibits, computations, and reports Ability to efficiently work independently within a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines Excellent analytical skills Possess strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation Availability to occasionally travel to other local offices and job site locations EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is variable depending on the applicable role. Expected compensation could range between $60,000 for entry level opportunities to $175,000+ for more experienced or Senior positions. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
