Geode’s 12-week Summer Internship Program offers students hands-on experience working alongside industry professionals on meaningful projects, while building technical and professional skills through mentorship, networking, and structured development. Interns will gain exposure to the investment management industry and explore career paths across investment management, technology, data analytics, operations, and finance.
This internship opportunity is based in our office in Boston, Massachusetts. You are required to follow the firm’s policy on in-office attendance. Our current policy requires in-office attendance on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and then provides an option to work remotely on Monday and Friday. Please note that Geode may alter this policy at any time.
CHOOSE YOUR TRACK:
Interns will be aligned to one of five tracks based on their interests, academic background, skills, and business needs.
1. Portfolio Analytics & Emerging Solutions
Turn data into insights and explore what’s next.
Contribute to portfolio analytics, business intelligence, and AI emerging solution initiatives that help inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
Ideal interests/skills: Data analytics, DevAssist AI, business intelligence, and Python programming skills
2. Investment Management
Gain firsthand exposure to the investment process.
Work alongside investment professionals supporting portfolio management, investment research, market analysis, and portfolio construction.
Ideal interests/skills: Investments, financial markets, economics, research, and asset management.
3. Technology
Build technology that supports a modern investment organization.
Partner with our engineering teams on software development, data management, automation, and business-critical applications, with exposure to the end-to-end development lifecycle.
Ideal interests/skills: Computer science, software engineering, SQL, Java, Vue, Python, AWS.
4. Strategic Initiatives & Trade Operations
See how strategy turns into execution.
Through a rotational experience, gain exposure to strategic initiatives, project management, process improvement, and the trade operations that support our investment organization.
Ideal interests/skills: Business strategy, operations, project management, financial markets, process improvement.
5. Finance & Treasury
Learn the financial engine behind the business.
Through a rotational experience, work with our Finance and Trust Company Treasury teams and gain exposure to financial analysis, reporting, treasury, trust administration, and fiduciary operations.
Ideal interests/skills: Finance, accounting, economics, treasury, financial analysis.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Across all tracks, interns will:
- Contribute to meaningful projects and business initiatives
- Analyze information, solve problems, and develop insights or recommendations
- Collaborate with colleagues and teams across the organization
- Build professional skills through mentorship, networking, and development opportunities
- Share project outcomes and key learnings at the conclusion of the program
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, including Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering. Must be entering Junior or Senior year.
- Minimum 3.4 GPA
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Technical skills relevant to your selected track are a plus.
